I've read its basically engine/gfx updates but I do have a hankering to go back again to it.
Worth the 40 quid you think?
I have been playing it since 10/28. The trouble is, my eyes are already "adjusted" to FO4. So Skyrim SE looks like a game from 2011 that someone sort of modded to look kind of like FO4, sorta.

Afaik its just gfx/engine updates which dont add anything really to the gameplay.

Disappointing but I can't say I'm surprised. Anyone played Killing Floor 2? It's out on PS4 here in a couple weeks and I'm strongly tempted, much to my wallet's dismay.

KF2 is a lot like KF1, but a little more consolized in my opinion (i.e. there's a lot more weapon spread in general), but overall is a massive improvement, even with the addition of MTs/CS:GO style of skins. Classes are much smoother to level up as, and the art/animations/sound/etc overall is great. If you played KF1, and liked it, you'd probably like KF2. If you like horde mode games, you'll like KF2.

Sweet. Until I lost my computer, I played A LOT of Killing Floor

Anyone seen Rogue Galaxy for the PS4? It's a PS2 for PS4 release, and looks fun. The $15 price tag for a PS2 game is steep, but I played the crap out of Dark Cloud 2 and this seems to be a spiritual successor

I loved it. But I'm a sucker for stealth games. You can play it a bit more aggressively, but to me, at higher difficulties, its clear that stealth is the main way to go. Like Deus Ex: Human Evolution.

Unfortunately that means I may pass on it. I personally prefer the gorey slash em up method, but I feel like I should be able to do one or the other, not be penalized for going heavy on one style.

Dishonoured is a great game. While is does do the stealth game very well, you can totally build your character to be a choppy ninja. You really have to hit and run though, you can't just tank your way through the game.

The game reallly changes in the later levels, depending how you play. If you go on an over the top murder spree early on, the games big baddies are acting very differently by the time you get to the end.

It's a very good game with lots of variation in game play (considering it's not a sandbox game)

Mad Max

or Borderlands 2/ Pre-sequel bundle

or Shadows of Mordor?

They are all basically the same price, so it's really which one is better.

I've beaten Borderlands 1 and had started 2 when my 360 died.

Shadows of mordor was a pretty good game, as was mad max. Both have combat in the same style as the batman games, and mad max is probably the first movie game that ISN'T complete garbage. However, I think shadow is better than mad max. As for president sequel, it's funny, but I didn't like it as much. If you're hungering for more BL2, grab presequel, otherwise shadows and mad max are both pretty good games.

Edit: if you JUST started BL2, and have someone to play it with who isn't burnt out on it, grab that. It's a fantastic game (even if the higher difficulty levels are just larger bullet sponges for the most part), and the DLC is even better Imo.

The more people you kill the darker the gameworld becomes and the ending is different. You can slaughter your way through the entire game or you can ghost your way through and never kill anyone, although the former is significantly easier.

Dishonoured 2 makes the stealth game a lot easier thanks to the addition of more non lethal takedowns and equipment.

Mad Max is fun but its basically the same thing over and over again. The same could also be said for Mordor and to be honest they are about as good as each other. I never liked Borderlands.

I recommend waiting for it to go on sale.

I'm pretty deep into it and its become boring to me. It has some interesting concepts, but I think I'm 2/3rds into it and with the path I've chosen, I'm only facing off against 2 different kinds of enemies. The story is awesome, as are some of the NPCs that join you, but after about 3 minutes of dialogue you know everything there is about them, barring the loyalty/fear abilities you get from making choices in the game.

It seems like half a game, with the potential to be a great game, but half a game nonetheless.

The Blood and Wine DLC is worth it alone. It's a huge new map. A few years ago that would have been a game by itself.

It' set in a classic medieval France-alike, with knights and witches and all that jazz. It's colourful and bright, which is a nice change of pace from the dour and rainy Scotland/Ireland-alike setting of the main game.

Anyone having issues with Dishonored 2? I'm finally about to finish Dauds missions in the first games DLC and I want more, but some of the PC reviews are saying its a shoddy port. Anyone buy it for PC and have ctd or frame rate issues?

There are a couple of beta patches which significantly improve performance. It ran okish for me 'out of the box' although there were some framerate and mouse issues, the patches have helped a lot here.

I'm seriously toying with buying Space Hulk: Deathwing. My concern is that my PC may not be up to the challenge. I've got a pretty good CPU, but my GPU is what I'm concerned about. I didn't see confirmed recommended system requirements, but the minimum requirements said 8GB of RAM (which I have) and for graphics, several different cards including a Geforce GTX 660. I have a Geforce GT 730 in my PC. After doing a bit of research, the 660 is definitely more powerful than the 730, but not by a huge margin. My question is, would my computer and graphics card be able to handle the game? Hopefully someone who knows more than I do about computers can answer this.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

You might be able to run it, but I'd hold off currently and wait a few weeks and see what kind of tech problems (and gameplay problems) it has, just gonna repost what I wrote in a different thread:

 Wolfblade wrote:
-So my thoughts having played both the CBT and the open beta, I'm disappointed so far. At first, we were told the MOBA style of leveling (levels reset after the match) was temporary, and there'd be a perma level system (this was then revealed to be single player only). Then, they said they were changing it to a per session thing because it "incentivizes farming and leveling up during the game" and "everyone starts out even at the start of the game." Note, exp is NOT shared unless you tag the enemy with at least one hit of any kind. An example of a problem with that is the Apothecary has no self heal until level 3, and healing gives no EXP and of course it's NOT HOW THAT WORKS. Chapters don't go "oh! you killed 20 genestealers, NOW THE 1ST COMPANY VETERAN HAS ACCESS TO A PLASMA CANNON/THUNDER HAMMER AND STORM SHIELD, go find an armory and grab it!"

-Also, heavy flamer is not gonna be in the initial release because "it's OP and caused performance problems." Performance problems is a legit excuse, but I don't believe it being OP as much of a problem.
-Crashes are still fairly common, as are performance problems, which is worrying as the game is only ~2 weeks from release.
-Recoil is insane considering everything we "know" about Terminator armor through the various RPGs/games. (aka, it's not consistent with 40k's "realism"/world)
-Terminator armor is about as durable as flak. Auto guns MURDER terminators better than the genestealers, Keep in mind carapace armor is supposed to ignore autoguns, let alone power or terminator armor.
-Ammo is unlimited. I understand from a gameplay perspective why, but it still bugs me, and means there is no reason to not have a heavy terminator with an assault cannon over a tactical marine with a storm bolter.
-Special ammo is not a thing, rather certain weapons are locked away until you hit a certain level, and they function differently (i.e. apoth gets a storm bolter with metal storm rounds)
-No AI director. Everything in the beta so far is scripted, with the same spawns, and generally the same paths taken by enemies. This is worrisome mostly because if everything is preset and the same every time you play a level, replayability is way down.

Overall, it's fun, but being this close to release is pretty worrying imo.

(Obviously everything there is from the OBT not the CBT)

FireWatch. Its a nope from me. Think its a tenner on steam atm but even still.
3.5 hours gameplay, an unbelievably wishy-washy ending and fairly mundane in places.
The gfx / style and overall idea is super cool. Just badly executed.

Im looking at The Long dark in a similar style. Anyone recommend?

This is fairly close to this thread's purpose, but I am torn 3 ways on my next gaming buy. I just finished Andromeda (and quite liked it, actually) and now I am down to three choices:

Persona 5 (never played a Persona game before, but this game really appeals)

Dark Souls 3, final DLC (cheap buy, for sure)

Find a Switch and get Breath of the Wild (hardest for sure)

If persona 5 is half as good as persona 4 was, then it should be an instant buy (haven't got enough time with it yet obviously though)

Cant recommend DS3 personally. I know it has more than a cult following but its definitely, most definitely a love it or (totally) hate it game.
Im in the latter :(

I picked up BFG of late and its very fun so far.
