Anyone here care to weigh in on Salt and Sanctuary? It's supposed to be like a Dark Souls 2D clone, but i just can't get past the art style. It just seems ugly.

If you were a fan of Just Cause 2, don't buy number 3, because it's really really changed for the worse. I would personally not buy this game, based on an inflated difficulty level, really non-existent health indicators and physics that are even more dodgy than just cause 2. The missions are fun, but confusing sometimes.

Any good? And do I get Wings of Liberty or Heart of the Swarm?

Just Cause 3: Still has some stuttering issues making people crazy... the game appears quite good but the little hangs are bordering on unplayable: wait, it needs some fixing. Even more important to wait if you do not use Nvidea cards.
StarCraft 2: Very polished game, many play it for the constantly being tweaked for balance PVP games. The stories on single player are worth it in themselves. WOL and HOTS are both worth getting but I would buy them in order one at a time. You are OK with real time frantic mouse clicking right?
SIB:
Stardew Valley: Just not sure... the chunky graphics and a farm(ish) community living an alternate life type RPG. It may be zen enough to try. As long as it is not a "Farmville".
No Man's Sky: Like a first person "Starbound"?

Its typical Blizzard. Flashy but not really what I was hoping for.
I have only played WoL (I have HotS but I never got very far in it) and its typical Blizzard storytelling with some reasonable mission design.
Basically if you can get it cheap its worth buying.

I'll wait until it's on sale in the local store, then, thanks!

If you liked rune factory/harvest moon series, you'll love it. I have gotten too far into the dungeon/combat so far, but it seems decent so far.
Also, I'll add a request for No Man's Sky if anyone has it too.

From what I've seen of No Man's Sky, it does look impressive. Especially if it matches the claim of being able to go to every star system you see in the night. To me, it's StarMade, but without such a heavy basis off of minecraft.

One of the new Fire Emblem games, I need a good "trip game" and I feel like I never gave Awakening a fair shake. I got caught up in that early side mission with the worthless, idiot farmer escort and go real tired of the game after that.

Fates is good, but it depends on what you want. Birthright is the easier one by FAR, conquest is hardest assuming you don't use any of the dlc to farm exp or items or gold, and Revelations is in between, but has the advantage of giving you everything you'd get in either game (in terms of characters iirc). Storywise, birthright is happy, conquest is sad, Revelations is... I dunno, the "true" ending I think? More spoiler ed below
DLC is kinda hit or miss, the bundle is worth it imo, it's got a minor nod/prologue to awakening, 2 new classes (witch and ballista make a comeback), a gold, exp, and item farm map for free iirc, some challenge maps (pick a royal minus corrin, use them and their retainers to beat everyone else, and get a stat boost item iirc, or things along that nature).
Also gone is the weapon durability feature fyi if you liked or hated that.
If you want another good trip game in the RPG genre for 3DS, pick up bravely second. loved it, almost at the end after ~30 hrs (even if I hate nintendo locking digital downloads to each 3ds, unless you make a NNID, and go through the email process to get it swapped over if your old DS happens to break...)
And if you happen to have a vita, the newish digimon cyber sleuth was a lot of fun too.

I was wondering if anyone had played Diablo 3 on Xbox One, It looks like something I'd be interested in, but all the reviews I've found tend to be ranting about how it's not as good as the first one, and it's been dumbed down for filthy casuals.
Being a filthy casual myself, and having not played the earlier ones, that's not much help to me!
As far as I can tell, you can play solo, and don't need Xbox Gold live membership unless you want to play online (which I don't)
I would like to get a few pointers about what the gameplay is like, if anyone can oblige?

Its mindboggeling simple. The gameplay requiers very litle in the way of tactics unless you play one of the fragile classes, like Demon hunter or Witch doctor. Besides that its decent for what it is but it no where near the older games of the series. Both combat wise and general look and feel wise I think at least

Yes although I bounced off it fairly early on.
Odd I did too.
I did come back to play it further and had a better time of it both in fun and depth (many updates with the enhanced edition fixed a few things for me).
DDOS tries to be more cutesy, clever, funny... lighter in tone even with some pretty terrible things going on.
I think if you want a more casual feel to a game this is it.
It seems overly concerned with your view or ethics of a given situation as a side development story (reminds me of Ultima 4 quest for the avatar in that regard).
The pacing and methods of reward seem reasonable.
It appears a bit more "zoomed in" I keep feeling up-close tanks have the advantage here.
Oh! the environmental combinations I must admit are awesome!
Combining water with say lightening or cold or oil then fire or poison gas and fire is just majestic when a plan comes together.
I have not considered environmental conditions and spell combinations quite so much as this game... I feel better for it.
The "home base" is something that expands as you progress to give you perks in various ways that are helpful.
It lacks the customization feel of POE for the base.
POE is a bit more serious, the puzzles are a bit more involved, it has some really nasty moments... it seems more riveting in it's depth.
I played pretty much every "gold box series" game out there and this game has preserved and improved some stories and fixed a painful interface.
It does not offer anything terribly new, it just presents it VERY well and I do love this game.
The base building and that side mission of going into the pit/mine/dungeon was a great idea if you are only in the mood for a "classic" dungeon crawl from time to time.
Neither game seems to have characters as insanely characterful as Minsc and his companion Boo the miniature giant space hamster but their stories are interesting all the same.

It just got listed as being supported by the PS4 Pro too. It's absolutely up there in my list of perfect games, with the likes of Halo 1, Super Mario 3, Mario 64, etc.

Afaik its just gfx/engine updates which dont add anything really to the gameplay.

Yes, I'd say it was worth it. Though I admit, I got it for free on PC because I had all of the DLC and the main game. But it is still worth paying for.

Its Civ 5 but with aliens. I played it for 1 game (with the expansion installed) and I have no interest to play it again.
Civ games just aren't what they used to be.
Agree. It's essentially a re-skinned Civ 5, very limited replay value I found.
