Are not Jump Infantry. Swooping Hawks however, are.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Gargoyles from Skyblight are decent. Objective Secured and come back on a 4+ if they are destroyed.

Death Company are tooted as being great at what they do (shame they are one of the few threats in the Codex so are gunned down first).

Swooping Hawks are decent, kinda like Scourge (but outclassed IMO by Fire Dragons for their role).

Maybe Flamers of Tzeentch if you choose your targets wisely.

To be honest i think Swooping hawks are more anti blob units than vehicles, use them against large units without high saves or toughness and they can shine wonderfully, also perfect to smack some units out of cover when needed.

Warp Talons are pretty good.... in planetstrike.

Otherwise they're terrible in normal games.

Thousand Sons: 3850pts / Space Marines Deathwatch 5000pts / Dark Eldar Webway Corsairs 2000pts / Scrapheap Challenged Orks 1500pts / Black Death 1500pts

Saga: (Vikings, Normans, Anglo Danes, Irish, Scots, Late Romans, Huns and Anglo Saxons), Lion Rampant, Ronin: (Bushi x2, Sohei), Frostgrave: (Enchanter, Thaumaturge, Illusionist)

Warptalons are actually pretty solid choices for a Codex Daemons army, especially Tzeentchian forces who otherwise lack a heavy-hitting assault unit. (LoC aside)

Flamers of Tzeentch either in large squads, or else min/maxed as part of a Warpflame Host are pretty good for their cost.

Chaos Furies are massively underrated, especially when marked Slaanesh! Even more Rending is never a bad thing, and they're so cheap you really don't care about just throwing them at your opponent and/or using them as a screen/tarpit.

The main problem with furies is that if they lose they lose hard. Ld 2 and Daemonic Instability means your only hope is to roll that insanely lucky 2 and regain all the furies you lost.

You can attach a Herald to solve that problem

At that point though one might as well just replace those furies with a more worthwhile unit the Herald can buff up to actually be scary, like Seekers. 4pts/model more than Slaanesh Furies for +2 WS, +1 I, +2 A, + 3" of extra run distance, even with the -1 strength is a much better murder machine, or 8pts/model for Fleshhounds with +2 WS, +1 T, +1 W, + 1 A, Scout and MTC.

Yes they're more expensive (and not Jump Infantry) but they're both better at killing and better at tying up units for more than an assault phase.

Slaanesh Furies get the added run distance btw, as it's part of the 'Daemon of Slaanesh' rule.

And the whole point of Furies is to be cheap... Yes, if they lose a combat, they lose hard. But who cares when their entire job is to either eat bullets for your better stuff and/or bully a much scarier unit for a turn or two?

Slaanesh Furies especially are readily capable of taking out opposing units worth far more than they are, thanks to Rending.
Tzeentch Furies can simply become a ridiculously annoying tarpit, thanks to their re-roll 1's on their saves.
Nurgle Furies are somewhat 'meh', though can build some amazing cover saves if going the bubble wrap route.
Khorne Furies are probably the worst, since Rending trumps the Daemon of Khorne benefits by a country mile, especially on a unit with only average combat stats.

SoB Seraphim are certainly worth taking now (they used to be hideously expensive in the WH codex). Even on their own they're pretty nasty - gunslingers with an AoF that gives them Shred, able to replace up to two pairs of bolt pistols with Inferno Pistols or Hand Flamers, a rerollable 6+ inv save and ofc Hit&Run. Have St Celestine join them and you're looking at a unit that will draw all the fire, allowing your regular sisters in Rhinos/Immolators a free turn of moving up.

Vanguard veterans are good. Veteran stat line, never disordered charges, cheaper war gear options, chapter tactics, ATSKNF.

Yes, but Seekers get an additional +3" on top of that (+6" in total) because they're Cavalry (Daemon of Slaanesh gives Cavalry +6" rather than the +3" other unit types get).

Because in my experience they typically only tie the enemy up for a single assault phase unless you purchase a full unit of 20. I for one would much rather just grab the same points worth of seekers or fleshhounds and actually kill enough models to win combat and stick around for another phase to then kill the troublesome unit (or cripple it) rather than just die.

My raptors do okay as well. 2 Meltas, like everyone says. If they actually make it into assault, it's a bonus.

Not jump infantry though, so totally irrelevant.
