A sweeping advance can take out 300 points like nothing. Necron warriors should be 15 points. Or keep them at 18 points and raise their initiative to 3.

For the most part, I don't think necrons are particualarly under priced. They have weaknesses to counter balance their strengths. I think what is under priced is the res orb that lets them ignore their weaknesses. I'd like to see it go away all together (along with IG leader ship bubble, orc mob rules, and other things that eliminate the intended weaknesses of particular armies) but i would settle for it just being rediclously expensive. I think if the res orb itself was 50 points, you would still see it in most necron armies. That alone shows just how stupidly powerful it is for its price.

Drop pods are another thing thats way under priced. Why would you ever take a rhino when you could have a pod for less points?

Threads should be like skirts: long enough to cover what's important but short enough to keep it interesting.

Hardly underpriced at 41 points with a max unit size of 3 and no way of cutting through armor. If anything, wraiths could use a boost. They're great, but against MEQs they can get into trouble.

Leadership 10 has a 1 in 6 chance of failing.

1 in 12, not 1 in 6. You don't fail on a 10.

Basing it on a straight 10 Ld, you're both wrong. If we're rounding to the closest whole #, then Donkeycannon is right.
They fail on 2 in 11.
You cannot roll a "1" on 2d6, and they fail on 11 and 12.
That comes up to a little bit over 1.09 in 6.

Holy crap your math is so incredibly wrong. There are 36 different outcomes when rolling 2D6. To fail a leadership test of 10, there are exactly three outcomes: 5-6, 6-5, and 6-6. Three out of 36 is a 1 in 12 chance of failing.

I can't believe this has not be stated. The most under priced unit in the entire game is the dakka dakka hive tyrant. for as little as 126pts you get a fearless, multi wound, high toughness, creature with a fearless aura of 12 inches, who puts out 18' fire power equivalent to a full squad of rapid firing tau warriors and has very decent hth abilities.... The winged dakka dakka rant is worse but much more expensive.=.

Wow!

Almost a 2 year old thread!

I started to read if from the beginning, and I was thinking that this stuff is not undercosted anymore (wraithlords and death company, etc.).

What I found odd is that no one said anything about Falcons. Shows you how much they improved.

Scarabs. If this isn't self evident, you've never seen them used well.

truth. of course, scarabs didn't have turbo boost when their points were written. i'm apprehensive about the idea of a new necron codex cause i know these guys are gonna get nerfed.

Pods are pretty damn cheap... until they show up in turn 5 or 6... then they are really expensive...

True. As for Scarabs, they Demolished my Reaver Titan in HTH. Look out in Apoc games 4 those Bad Boyz.......

DP's are the cheapest units in game for what they do, understanding above quote.

The thing with wraithlords is you have to include the cost of having some
kind of psyker put on the table just to babysit them.

It’s funny how it works on the internet, isn’t it? There’s always something that’s is utterly hated and completely underpriced… for around six months before people start playing against it and learning its limitations. Of course, there is stuff that really is underpriced but the fact that so many items come and go from these kinds of lists indicates the problem isn’t as bad as the internet would have you believe.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Dark Eldar warrior squad with 2 darklances. 2 lance weapons for 100 points. If I had the fantasy system of unlimited troops, warrior squads would be over the top.

Lelith Hesperex for 90 points is also crazy

My voice is for the Falcon. A tank that is 1 in 12 to knock it outa the sky for each time you actually hit it, can drop troops, and its Pulse Laser isnt something MC's and AV12 or below can sneeze at. Not to mention the potential crazy abuse of Tank Shock rules. I've had games where its tank shocked more squads into breaking and running off the table then I've killed with it shooting. Go ahead, shake it. with 36" of possible movement and Skimmer rules, it'll be able to shock all game long most often. I cant think of another unit that'll soak up that much firepower and still be so effective in its role. Its only downside is it cant quite pop real tanks on its own (but the Fire Dragons it carries CAN!!!) unless it gets behind and flanks the crap out of things.

I suppose the tau hammerheads and the like are similar, but I dont think I've seen Fire Dragon equivalents popping out of them.
