Very cool release, definitely hard not to be excited. Still, I have more than enough unpainted plastic to last me for the next two years or more.
Maybe though

I have to wonder if the assault doors will be rhino, land raider, or unique in size. I'd hit that with some Black Templar doors! Or some other chapter.....

No the original grey knights in power armour had them. Or in other words back when grey knights were cool.
When i am shocked that the flying actually looks nice, and its not even forge world. then again we have only seen it from the front.

Well gak the bed. I was all set to pass on this one but dem bitz man, dem bitz...
Terminator pads confirmed, some nice new bare heads, MK8 power armour, and that character model will be perfect for an Inquisitor in PA. Very nice indeed.
EDIT: fething hell, I didn't even notice the flyer. That might be the first non- FW Marine flyer I actually like, without any quibbles or reservations.
EDIT2: Wait, haud yersel, just a minute - is that a Heavy Bolter with a Heavy Flamer strapped to the bottom?!? Fantastic

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal |

After the disappointing Fyreslayers and the horrible Wulfen, GW have been on a bit of a roll. The deathwatch game, the silver tower game, the ironjawz the sylvaneth and now the Deathwatch have all been releases with excellent sculpts. That watch commander is great.

Only bits and pieces of it have been available before in various plastic kits. Building a whole unit, let alone an army of Mk 8 was therefore nigh on impossible. Many of us have been asking for it for some time, in the background, certain chapters, notably the Minotaurs, almost exclusively use it. Forge World released kits for all the prior designs as part of the HH stuff, but Mk8 is high future kit and so looked unlikely to ever see a widespread release.
These Deathwatch will enable people to tool up whole units or armies with the very best of the best now.

I think he was asking what the unique traits were for that armor mark.
MK8 has a high caller and round knee pads. Thats pretty much it aside from some minor details. I actually have never been much of a fan myself aside from the random dude here or there ( i think too many looks odd) but a lot of folks have wanted it for a LONG time. So it is a very welcome sight

The not Guardian Spear is damn pimp. Lots of cool gubbins on that upgrade frame it seems.
The Watch Captain looks fantastic.
Artemis doesnt look right to my eyes - the face in particular suffers from that blocky square head that GW seem to have adopted for some of the un-helmed Marines recently. Also not a fan of cloaks.
Does he also look quite large - like bigger (fills the whole base in his pose) than the other marines (which are possibly built on the base CSM kits with the extras from the upgrade sprue to bling them) around him. I hope its not a trend to the AoSification scale creep of the 40K range. I dont want mixed hight/scale Marines like you see between the new AoS Chaos and older WoC stuff.

Oh man, all these models look great! I absolutely love that dropship, and the infantry kit looks great too. Artemis is spot on, and the Watchmaster looks excellent. Glad I've been holding onto a Sternguard kit for a couple years now; the spare bits from this stuff will definitely let me flesh out a cool Deathwatch squad.

Artemis does look a little blocky. The GW painting style does not help this. The new model is a deliberate homage to the old Inquisitor model. He was a bit of a giant in that game, so I think the new one is deliberately big.
