I'm not sure where it states you must have 100% of your army to call it a IronJawz for example. It does unlock battle line in some cases.

I'm not sure why this seems strange... By the rules I cannot mix in 25% Beastclaws with Ironjawz and call it an 'Ironjawz army' so why does Khorne get an exemption? If it were something like a Ghorgon mixed in then sure, I'd call it a Khorne army, but a LoC is about as un-Khorney as it gets. And that's the greater point; the army requires key components that are not Khorne to make the Khorne part of it work, so it has a crutch.

Ok, then your argument has no bearing in regards to Auticus' point that Khorne armies rate as mediocre. It seems the statement is "by my personal standards Khorne armies are not mediocre" rather than a comment on Matched Play as a whole.

That's... Exactly what it kind of means, having the proper keyword that grants 'Allegiance'.

Though now I kind of want to see mixed allegiance, Bloodbound and Daemons for example, a big ol' happy fightin family.

Ah right, but since KBB doesn't have specific traits I'm ok with Chaos.

Yeah, slaves to darkness, bloodbound and khorne demons all have the same 'allegiance' Chaos and yuo can even all have the same Khorne keyword (give slaves khorne keyword). Not like that is either 'mixed' or illegal from a matched play point of view.

Narrowing it down won't give 'allegiance abilities' though it might be useful if you really want to get the bloodcrusher battleline or something.

The reason I have gone for the bloodbound is so that I can also pull in slaves and demons and still have a fluffy khorne army. Of course I don't really care for competition etc, so that isn't an issue.

To be clear when I'm talking about the faction being mediocre overall in competitive environments I am referring to a force that is composed strictly of mortal khorne models.

By the rules a Khorne army means everything has the Khorne keyword. So yeah, your argument has no bearing on the merits of a Khorne army in matched play.

I'll bow out of this line of discussion at this point, its pretty clear to me that you don't have an argument anymore.

As an observer here, I think both sides are being a tiny bit pedantic. We can safely say, Bloodbound with some additions can be a very competitive army.

Lulz! who says I'm arguing with you. If I want to play my Bloodbound with chaos allies where does it says I can't? All it restricts me is access to Traits and possible artifacts in the future.

By the rules you absolutely can.

But that wouldn't be strictly speaking a Bloodbound army. That would be an army with some Bloodbound elements in it.

To be competitive, a Bloodbound army pretty much requires outside elements added to it because a pure Bloodbound army is not going to cut it against some of the acutely busted forces one can create (the three I see a lot of are the newest ogor release frost horn "army" (loosely called army because its typically very low model co unt), the skyhammer stormcast formation where they just show up and charge alongside one or two stardrakes doling out platefuls of mortal wounds, and the skaven stormfiend mortal wound spam force with misc extras)

Well, its perfectly fine to enhance a Bloodbound army with some mortal Khorne units like Marauders or Chaos Knights. This is similar to mixing Sylvaneth with Wanderers.

To be fair, mixing factions within an allegiance is perfectly acceptable, just calling it a pure bloodbound is rather weird when your including Tzeentch.

I definitely didn't say Pure Bloodbound.

I'm not contending that mixing a faction with another is bad or wrong at all.

I'm just clarifying what I mean when I say a khorne bloodbound army.

When I say a khorne bloodbound army is mediocre, I'm referring to an army that is composed entirely of khorne bloodbound.

Otherwise I'd just say a chaos army with some khorne in it and some demons in it etc.
