It's fun. Teething issues and tech glitches aside, it's fairly entertaining as background viewing.

I used my Amazon Prime to sub to the channel for free (may only be for 30 days though?) and I'm working from home, listening to Rob say 'super' every third word. I watched one game live yesterday, and watching archive of the second now.

The Tech issues are actually pretty minor compared to some more saavy twitch users, I was actually surprised at the quality.

Yeah they totally are, and endearingly blustered over. :-)

Can anyone here comment on how competitive the AoS match was?

The second one was quite competitive from a list standpoint. It was Skryrefyre vs Skyborne Slayers (Skaven Skryre vs Stormcast) which are two of the hardest tourney builds at the moment. The dice made it a bit one sided (I personally think the Skaven player misplayed a bit as well) but it was pretty indivative of what a tourney game might look like.

Is it only possible to watch these live or can I go back and watch yesterday's stuff? I could only catch the start that was showing the different custom regiments people had made for Sigmar.

Speaking of which, how awesome were some of those units, like those aelves painted in red armour and stuff, really wish we could get a collection of those images.

I think the first week's stuff will always be available to watch but after that past broadcasts will be for subs only.

Ah right cheers, dont mind it being only for subs which makes sense, as long as youre able to watch the stuff you missed.

Is this first game supposed to be "competitive" or nah? They've made a big push with AoS and matched play to delineate between casual and competition, but they seem to care less about it when it comes to 40k.

I am worried GW don't realise how this works.

"Restrict Access to Archives" is what you're looking for.

Yeah, I guess this is what they will do, but that means you will still be able to watch it live if you are not subscribed.

Exactly - and they'll probably turn chat to subscriber-only mode.

So what they're really doing is penalizing those that don't live in the same time zone?

So if I, an American, want to watch WarhammerTV Live I need to keep ungodly hours/quit my job, or sub so I can watch it after the fact. Sigh. I already don't get to watch Emma live and have to watch her VODs, I'm not about to pay to do the same with WarhammerTV.

No-one is being 'penalised'. That's a bit entitled, dude. If it's live, it's live, and not much they can do about that. It's also not ideal for most people in the UK, as they're at work! I'm lucky enough to work from home and have multiscreen setup.

Ultimately, if you can't catch it, you can't catch it, but there's no obligation to make this content free.

Try using your Amazon Prime (or a friend's) to upgrade to Twitch Prime and use the free channel subscription allowance so you can watch when you want.

I already use my Prime sub on a streamer I watch pretty regularly. I've thought about using it on one of the BLU streamers, but I don't get to watch them as often. If I sub, I want to be able to use all the features of having subbed, not just being able to go back and watch streams I missed.

I recognize that they can't please everyone. It's kind of like Rooster Teeth's live streams. It's unfair to ask them to stay late at work so other people can watch their live streams. I wouldn't as the GW folks to do that either. It'd just be nice to be able to see someone other than Frontline (whose live games are okay) doing live games on Twitch.

Aye fair dos. Mind if I ask... do you have to re-sub every month using Prime, do you have to try different channels, or does it stay unless you change it?

Even my wife commented on how good the commentary was, and normally she only suffers my Warhammer videos if we take turns with her Disney videos. Really fun game for the first one.

It expires every 30 days and then you have to resub. You can resub to the same channel or another channel. Or no channel at all! But it doesn't automatically renew.
