Comes a new regular series of inspiring hobby shows: Warhammer Live
Starting in December, more news coming soon.
Follow us on Twitch now
https://www.twitch.tv/warhammer
from the AoS thread ;
This weekend, Warhammer TV will be broadcasting live from the Blood and Glory event in Derby UK.
Blood and Glory is one of the largest independent Warhammer Age of Sigmar matched play events in the world.
This is the first time that we’ve done a live-stream from an independent event of this sort, and we’re excited to see how it goes – so be sure to tune in. Blood and Glory is also renowned for the quality of the painted armies, so we’re looking forward to bringing you some of those too.
Of course, this isn’t the only live-stream action we have for you this weekend, as you can also tune into the Blood Bowl Bugman’s Full Beard Cup, live from Warhammer World.
We’re having so much fun with these live-streams, we’re already looking at options to do more in the future, including more independent events and more game systems, particularly – of course – Warhammer 40,000.
Follow us on twitch.

That Twitch chat is going to be utter hell if they don't set it to subscriber only.

They already did a stream with twitch chat. It did not seem too bad. A warhammer TV show sounds great. Another move in the right direction

During the blood and glory stream they shared some details about the format of Warhammer live.
The plan is to broadcast 3 days a week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Wednesday is AOS day. With Narrative play in the afternoon and a full matched play game in the evening, with overlays graphics, replays etc.
Friday is 40k with the same format.
Thursday is interviews day, with painters, artists, writers, designers etc.
They are aiming for something near 20 hours a week!
This will all have twitch chat on. ( here is your chance to ask why rubric marines are so expensive)
They mention a £5 a month subscription. (Though the benefits of this don't seem obvious)
P.s. For those who watched the blood and glory stream. And were unimpressed by the audio, don't worry. They said they will be buying new microphones.
It all sounds pretty impressive and Rufio's enthusiasm is pretty infectious.

When I heard about this, I started to wonder; they couldn't possibly turn Warhammer into an e-sport, could they?! I don't think it could get that kind of popularity, but live streaming of games and tournaments is certainly heading in that direction.

official blurb
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2016/11/28/warhammer-live-is-coming/
Those of you who tuned in to watch this weekend’s live-streams at Blood & Glory and the Bugman’s Full-Beard Cup will have already heard, but for the rest of you, here is what you can look forward to.
Warhammer Live, launching on the 14th of December, is an all-new live-stream show, broadcast 3 days every week from Warhammer TV.
Each Wednesday will be dedicated to gaming in the Mortal Realms, with both an ongoing narrative campaign, and matched play games streaming each week. We’ll be showing the full range of what gaming in the Age of Sigmar can be.
Warhammer 40,000 will follow a similar pattern each Friday, showcasing thematic battles from the iconic battlefields and war zones of the 41st Millennium, as well as more competitive games, each week.
And that’s not all – every Thursday, we’ll bring you interviews with the teams behind the miniatures, the background and the rules of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
Warhammer Live will be a subscription service, bringing you over 60 hours of content each month, for just £5 – bargain.
And, so you can see what you’re getting first, the first week from December 14th, is going to be broadcast for free!
More news is on the way soon, so stay posted.
You’ll be able to watch the shows on the Warhammer Twitch Channel.

esport doesn't mean "you can watch it online". esport is "this is a sport played electronically, e.g. on a PC". Otherwise football (the proper kind, with the ball and being played with your feet) would be the biggest "esport" out there ;-)

The live stream of Blood Bowl over the weekend was really good - and the twitch chat (as previously mentioned) was very civil.
It's almost convinced me to buy The new Blood Bowl game. If I can find an opponent...

So has GW changed? Really trying to stay positive here, but can't we watch these things for free on YouTube? It's almost like GW is back to their old tricks trying to charge you what they should give you for free.
I only seen one of their streams and for me I would never pay for anything like that. Mind you it was their very first one. So am I right in guess that they are charging for this because there will be high value production going on? I mean the first one I saw was top down, one view angle and that was it.
Is this going to be more? I don't know, you would think that GW trying to shed it's image of "we would even charge you for the air you breathe if we could" this would all be free.
I know, it's not much, 5 pounds is what $10 Canadian. I get more on Netflix than I would of this so, it's a no buy for me.
Hopefully it will be worth it for the people who do get it though.

I saw that SntlingPimpWagon. (wow what a name. ) I can barely watch games on YouTube I don't think I will need this.
Can anyone explain to me why there is a charge besides the "because then can". Will this be high production so then need the money to do what they are going to offer? Really trying to understand instead of being negative here.

Well, I'd personally presume, it's to keep the bad crowd away.. And earn some monies as well while doing so.
Can't really think of anything else. Because it will get messy at some point.
BTW, A channel needs something like 3k subscribers to be able to charge for subscriptions, but one can donate to any channel voluntarily (I doubt that will happen on GWs videos a lot, maybe if Duncan and Co are doing something funny.

Probably because Twitch chat, in general is toxic as all hell. It's their way of moderating it I suppose.

Or 100,000 YouTube subscribers which warhammer tv has.
We definately need more details about the subscription. It reads like you need a subscription just to watch it, but that is not how twitch works right? I have prime so I will subscribe anyway, but I don't like the idea if people being locked out of the content.
