Looking good guys
Spectre and Raptor mechs providing lightweight long range missile support. I'm also wondering about finding some appropriate Kaiju figures for them to fight. Any suggestions?

So I have been quiet over on my own blog. But have been getting some decent progress done this month (among a VERY hectic work schedule). So here is my January results (I won't get any more finished this month). So all presented in one photo my Alpha Legion Raptors and a Bastion.
Next month will be as many of the remaining Alpha Legion as I can. Hope to be done with them by my March pledge.

Thanks ...and that is a Rogue Trader-era "Imperial Dreadnought", from about 1990 I think, maybe 1988 according to this catalogue pic:
...it was a modular kit that could make one of 3 different classes of dreadnought, the deredo, the contemptor, and the furibundus...the deredeo and the contemptor now have quite a different look, and considerably more imposing size
Slinky wrote:I've got a real soft spot for those old dreads, and the equivalent Ork and Eldar ones too - Base looks great, did you make it yourself?
oh I'd love to get hold of at least the chaos and ork equivalents someday, and a lot of other stuff from back then really, so many of those old models just ooze character!
...and thanks , yeah, the base was homemade...just a regular gw 60mm base, some roughed-up bits of cork tile, some of my homebrew texture paint, some primer and lava colours through an airbrush, some drybrushing and a black wash on the rocks, and a thinned-down gloss varnish over the lava...had to leave the texture paint overnight to dry before painting, but other than that it was pretty quick and easy
...I'd go a bit easier on that last dark red layer on the lava next time though, turned out a bit too dark...lesson learned though, and it still works well enough

I'd say that a 10-man squad and a terrain piece that size is a good month's work. Very nice.
That RT-era dread is great. As you say, models from that era really are characterful, especially for old gamers like me.

Here's another unit for my total in January:
10 T-800 Endoskeletons and 5 "Crawlers" - all from the Terminator Genisys Miniatures game. They can also be used as Iron Warriors cultists as needed.
More here.
Because of my method of updating my P&M/Wordpress blogs, I'll have a few more January submissions spaced out over the next week or so. This is because I've had most of January off work and it's perfect painting/spraying weather for the most part, so it
s doubtful that I'll have another month as productive this year, and I tend to post blog updates every 2-3 days instead of daily or even more frequently.

When I signed up this year, I said that my goal was my Bolt Action british. I got a free box of infantry when I ordered the 2nd edition rulebook, and then I got a nice pile of stuff from my in-laws for Christmas. While I do not have anything fully painted, spoilered below is a picture of everything built.
For those that are looking for some completed minis, here's a taste of the 3rd edition Ultramarines I completed:

Post what you've gotten done - no problem there. I got a ton of scatter terrain finished in January, and given how many people got similar done across the months last year I'm tempted to post them here as well, even though they weren't part of my initial intention. Polonius - the same - feel free to post Ultras units that you finished.
More broadly speaking - that's a pile of fantastic looking stuff up and down this page alone. Great work, guys. Automatically Appended Next Post: These wolves were started and finished in January. They're from the Conan boardgame Kickstarter.
Lots more here.

Well, alrighty then, here's what I did for January:
As you can see, these are bog standard Chaos Marines other than the Champion, who is one of the Chosen from Dark Vengeance.
I think I'd better change my project in this thread from just Dark Angels to "Dark Angels and other 40k stuff".
