You'd love MtG, breaking the game is half the game.

Except when it completely breaks the game, as evidenced by the recent "emergency ban" of Felidar Guardian...

Wizards broke the game in the design phase, they also fixed it before the actual release.
Gotta feel bad for anyone who purchased them on the 2nd hand market, then again, pay to win and all that.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

Why would a new edition change people's attitudes?

Well, new Eds could weed out those guys, rather than change their attitudes (tho I'm not sure what unpainted minis that OP referred to has to do w/ it )

Anyway, I think the rumored 12pg rules and more easily accessible ($20-40 for each of the rumored 5 books?) army rules will probably leave less up for debate if they're as streamlined as is hoped. I believe that will weed out some of "that guy" the OP is referring to(?).

Every different rulebook in the store - 23 inches. Every rulebook (not pictured) - about 4 feet.

I imagine if you also counted all the Imperial Armour books, the Digital Data Slate print outs and the Gathering Storms, it would be well above the height of the average human male adult. After all the FW books are very thick and there are well over a dozen of them.

That Guy is the guy who conveniently forgets rules when they work against him, and enforces them religiously when they favor him.
