What is people gonna do with 4 Wraitknights? Learn that chasing the metagame comes at the expense of adjusting your army every time the mega changes.

The kind of people that bought a Riptide wing just to ally and form a TauDar are the ones that have 0 problems to sell them to buy the new hotness.

0 Emphaty for my part. Other cases or allies not being legal in 8th... you can always play narrative.

Well, I've made a 2000 point list using the LoW Detachment and the detachment for ICs: 3 Wraithknights, 1 Avatar, 1 Farseer, 1 Autarch. And this gives me 7 Command Points. I am not sure how effective it will be as objectives are held by the number of models vs number of wounds. It may come down to just trying to clear all models off of an objective.

Can't speak about Taudar players.

Taudar can't be a thing in matched play anymore, not that they were particularly good in 7th towards the end there. have to share a keyword from my understanding

So I couldn't run a Space Marine Captain and two squads of guard in a patrol detachment? But I could do a detachment of guard and desperate detachment of space Marines in the same army?

if they are both imperium which they should be it would be fine for the detachment. though I believe the space marines captain only buffs keyword <chaper> marines

Yeah. Thats how you balance this:

You can have a broad army as Imperium or Chaos but have near to 0 sinergies, or you can have much more restricted subfactions and have better sinergies ,special rules etc...

The tricky point is to encounter the balance betweem making the subfaction-bonuses good enough to pay for the restrictions in the units you can choose, but not so good tha they become OP and make more generic armies useless again'st them.

It is going to be interesting to see how GW chooses to balance this sort of thing, possibly campaign books to open up some alliances?

You could run either one...they have a "word" in common. Thats all you need. Taudar can still run, they just need to be in seperate detachments because the words don't match. But in matched, unless otherwise noted, one word must be shared by all.

So,(IMO) you can run Empy's kidz, and Chaos with no problems. But buff's may not work on all parts of your force equally.

Well no.. Taudar cannot run in a Battleforged army.. Each Detachment needs to be linked via Key word.. the exception being GSC and Guard
