Arrived today and it's a very nice, crisp cast and a nice model overall. If this is the standard that will be delivered I am very happy to back.

There does seem to be an awful lot being produced with this campaign though, but if they have the capacity to produce it all then all power to them.

OK. Now I've opened it I notice a couple of bubbles in the back that will need to be filled, but nothing too onerous.

Thanks, very useful and much appreciated. Cast looks decent, bubbles are a pain but not as bad as missing/deformed bits. For the price, looks pretty reasonable.

That brute is massive, he is, well, a brute of a beast. He's probably bigger than most things. Most elf sized things at any rate.

I know, he is big but as I say, didn't have anything else immediately to hand.

I'm happy with the sculpt and the cast. I tend to always expect some imperfections and these are minor enough that I wouldn't really raise a stink about it- it's not like any detail is affected and they are small enough to fill without any effort.

I backed their last Kickstarter at the Mega Army pledge level. For probably 95% of the minis the only issues were bubbles in the resin, but almost all those were fairly inconspicuous and not so big a deal. A very few had some pretty severe issues with chunks of resin etc. left on the mini, but given the overall number of minis it was not overly significant. Plus they seem pretty good with replacements.

The issues with the last seem to be that they were forced to change casting material a few times. There are least three different types of resin in mine; a yellow and almost white resin which are fine, but those cast in dark grey resin are quite brittle and have had the most issues with those in particular. Happy they have gone for a longer shipping time here, as hopefully it will help picking up on any issues.

Anywho, very happy overall with what I got, and have backed this one again for the new halfings. Can't have enough of those

Barely made a dent in the pile yet, but what I have painted so far below (including an attempt at a steam tank conversion...). The villagers are by far my favourite. Just loads of character on those!

Those halflings have a lot of charm. It must be your paint job, as I tend to hate halflings!

Now that you mentioned types of resin, going back and looking through my Carnevale stuff, it was the darker resins that I'd had more issues with as well. The lighter ones were quite nice. Odd.

Glad to hear that even with some casting issues you are still happy for the price.

Yeah, very happy with what I got.

Given the seeming size of the company, and the number of minis they produced for the kickstarter, was expecting a few issues. In the end, probably only 5% or less of those minis I received had real problems.

Which seems a pretty good success ratio for a first attempt at a kickstarter this large. Am throwing another chunk of money at this one, so obviously confident they'll do even better again this time

In the Halflings KS, each unit had several different poses.

I am also very pleased with what I got in that one, no issues to speak of, good quality resin. A+ will back again.

Yeah, from everything people have said all lights are green on backing something from TTCombat.

Also, the creator said in the comments that the mercenary riders would be on camels! (My heavy preference)

How well do their miniatures clean up? An experience with Raging Heroes has left me very cautious of buying large numbers of resin miniatures in one hit, and while I know that nothing will ever be that bad again, I'd like to know just how much prep work I'll be looking at.

I got to check out BobtheInquisitor's resin Halflings.

Quite nice. A bit of cleanup needed but nowhere near the insanity I've experienced cleaning Lost Empire's giant lizardmen monsters.

I recently cleaned up a bunch of halflings, a few human sized models and some monsters, and they were all quite easy to do. The only issue of any note was that on one of the "ghost"-halfling variants the gate did not taper like the others, but was almost as wide as the mini all the way up under the bedsheet so to speak, making it a bit of work to get the gate off without damaging the mini. But the resin was easly to cut both with knife and clippers, so not really a big issue in the end.
There are a few "rods and pins" from vent and gates here and there on the minis, that are easy to snip off. I cleaned up around 30 halflings plus the others in about an hour to an hour and a half or so. The female figure in the above example is representative of the multi-part minis. Almost all the halflings are single piece castings and had a tapered gate under the feet plus said rods and pins around. There were very little mould lines as far as I could tell, and the few I saw were not prominent.

I'm glad the pledge manager will be open until December, this means we'll get to see the 3rd edition KoW army lists before committing to buy.

I have a late WHFB era Tomb Kings army but I was always short on basic infantry and since I'll never get more matching plastic skeletons, I'm tempted to fully switch to TT mummies.

And selling classic metals like Ushabti at collector prices to finance 5x the amount of TT equivalents is a nobrainer.

Looks like the real question is... Do I even keep any GW Tomb Kings?

Sell the old to pay for the new!

There is an ungodly amount of neat stuff in this campaign. I'm truly lost as to what I'm going to end up with.

An RPG pledge along with a booster and some MDF terrain will probably give me all the tools I need to run an appropriately themed campaign- based skirmish game when the time comes.

What's that fire avatar thing supposed to represent? I can't think of a Fantasy unit it would be used in lieu of. First thought was an Eldar Avatar...

You were (almost) correct. It's a stand in for the Avatar of Khaine from the Daughters of Khaine Cauldron of Blood, who gained the ability to be his own standalone unit with the battletome.

EDIT:
@Maledrakh - Cheers for the info! Much appreciated. Missed your post the first time around.

Hadn't thought of using it as an Avatar of Khaine. Makes sense with all the elf business.

I keep on waffling between holding myself to just the RPG pledge plus mercenaries, and pledging away a kidney's worth of money.

Like I said earlier, I'd be down splitting up a pledge, especially for local folks.

I initially backed for the RPG pledge to supplement the growing pile of Bones we have for games.

Now knowing they're a reliable company and seeing some more designs I'm tempted to also go in for an elf battalion as well.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.
