Apologies to whoever gave me this link way back for forgetting who you are now -
http://statuesqueminiatures.mobile034.com/p/8774376/sma012-heroic-scale-female-heads.html
- but I do remember that they only did a headswap and they worked so well people still asked if they'd shaved the torso down.
At wargame scale, your eye can play tricks that do a lot of the work.

GW already models variously giant space bugs, pus-dripping daemons, hilarious ork-cyborgs, skeletal wraith constructions, and sleek, futuristic mechas.
Despite some foibles in the 90s, I find it strange to think it is beyond the wit of man to sculpt some appropriately grimdark female guardsman.
'Women are hard to sculpt' is the 40k equivalent of the 19th century claim that 'women don't make good doctors. For reasons!'

I'll be honest, I had some residual doubt about GW in particular until Severina Raine was released. I was all aboard after that.

It'll happen one way or another eventually. likely when they feel like redesigning the guard again, so it's more a question of priority.
id recommend taking advantage of headswaps and other miniature manufacturers instead, because when that redesign comes, guard costs will likely be even higher overall. i don't know if that'll be worth it by then.

You can, in a pinch, simply use Escher heads on Cadian bodies.

I like your kukushka model.
Fat in 40k is for the few obvious non-warrior model (many priests/cardinals, ...) and Nurgle.
Recent GW did muscled women.

I can't tell if you are agreeing or disagreeing with me.

Talking 'bout rightmost guy in pic? Can't see belly but sure looks muscular to me. You mean he is an exception to Nurgle being fat?

GW should do more strongman tipe models, like, not fat, strong, but not bodybuilders.
The Bloodstoker from AoS is one of my favourite models of the line because he is so different to everyone else.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

We're talking about a cinematic universe, set 38,000 years in the future and in which green-skinned aliens, space elves and daemons are all fact.
Obviously a soldier presenting as female who is the same height as one that presents as male is a suspension of disbelief too far, if we simply assume that your half-baked ideas about height are correct.
Muh fragile masculinity.
EDIT - FWIW, being tall is not necessarily a good thing if you play on the front-row. They tend to be short and stocky. Like Lady Death.
Because if they are the same hight and build as men, and wear protective gear including helmets, then you already have your IG female models in the cadian line. As I said before, it would be like having a line up of pre 13y olds in full protective gear. It is impossible to say which gender their are. It is when people start bulking up in a different way durning puberty that the difference becomes visable. It even becomes uncomfortable to wear the same type of protection, aside for maybe the head, because most people cut their hair short to not get grabed or injured by accident.
The hight thing is just an example from sports. Women stop growing sooner then men. I know it can be stoped by taking medicin, and some at my school do. But I doubt the IG has am early teen recruitment program to grow larger female soldiers.
Female models to be female have to look like female, if they look like men, then there is little reason to create a separate line for them. Plus am not even sure there is a huge market for females looking like males in the first place.
SoB look very feminin, if they were suddenly made to look like men, there would have to have really good rules to be played. Automatically Appended Next Post: Galas wrote:GW should do more strongman tipe models, like, not fat, strong, but not bodybuilders.

That is true, the female models in warcry all look like female fighters, and not like dudes who were given a head swamp. Aside maybe for the horror crew. no idea which kind any of those are.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain. |

Again, it is only your naked assertion that says same height equals androgyny.
A Sister of Battle is taller than a Cadian, FYI. Escher are taller than Cadians.
So, enjoy the hole you just shot in your own foot.
