You're not supposed use the handle to paint. Maybe that's why your experience is bad.

Yeah, the paint handles are kind of a pain when assembly line painting, but they are absolutely amazing for when you're trying to focus on a few models! A stock of 18 doesn't seem like a lot at all.

Yep. Luckily about 6 sisters is max I can bear doing same stage at once. Bit trickier colour scheme to do so focusing on just 6 models, for which I could afford the holders, works out just fine.

With one it would be just for characters etc. I could not see myself using these for ork army either! That or I'm filthy rich to get 30 of them (that's what 180 euros and change...).

Wonder if 18 were individual ones or did some be on those 5 packs? 2 packs of 5, 8 individual I don't see being too difficult to sell. Local FLGS is selling them decently from the sound of it having asked about it.

Actually there is a problem with becoming a 3rd party supplier not sure if you can still download the catalogue from GW site.
But there are 3 levels of starter package for stores starting from £2000 ish then 2 larger ones, however they have a set value not contents unless you take the most expensive.

Had 3 local stores start with the smallest package all of them got the floor sweeping of GW's warehouse, this was a few years ago but for example they all got 2 40k starters, 2 Aos starters and then 4 "ltd edition" Hobbit starters and a stack of the hobbit stuff nobody was buying.

I would guess the modern starter package would come stuffed with warcry and other white nobody wants. Oh and it at least used to be the case that you had to take one of the packages or they would not deal with you

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Last I checked Warcy was doing well even in areas where AoS isn't mainstream.

That said it makes sense that GW wants local stores to take starters sets from most of the GW line. Even if your area hasn't got any AoS players, if your local store hasn't got any AoS stuff (and certainly no starter sets) then there's even less chance of it starting. GW's view is clearly that if the local store has starter sets then there's potential to recruit new gamers into that market area.

If even encourages the local store owner to promote GW alternative product lines to customers so that they can shift the stock. It's a win win for the store owner because if they can get a new group of gamers on board with a new game guess what - that means a lot of new sales for the store (hopefully) from that new line that GW can supply with ease.

Again remember that part of a shops function is to sell stuff to customer not just provide them with what they've ordered.

Novel idea, crack open a sigmar start box, get the regulars to paint it up, use it as a demo kit and see if anyone wants to start collecting sigmar? Sure nobody plays it now but they might once they experience it.

I think experiencing Age of Sigmar is the whole reason people don't play it.

I would have agreed with this statement a few years ago but AoS has really come a long way in the last 12 months so worth another try if you were somewhat interested

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."
