Decent enough episode this week. A whole bunch of small events but nowhere close to last weeks semi-snoozefest.
Spoiler:
-I really like how the show has expanded on Aemond One-eye’s character. For all his faults, he’s eminently capable.
-The elder Strong at Harrenhal is a great actor.
-I can’t put my finger on the ‘hauntings’ at Harrenhal. On one hand they seem to be appealing to his baser instincts and wants, on the other trying to seemingly build him up by letting him get some closure with his brother.
-Alys isn’t a ghost, as I started to believe per my post about last weeks episode.
-Solid psychological warfare from Team Black.
-Did Allicent get cut at the same spot as Rhaenyra from season 1?
-Really looking forward to the two Velaryon bastards getting their time to shine. Without spoilers the one that shaves his head ended up being one of my favorite characters that GRRM created.
-Look like Nettles won’t be a thing, which is fine I suppose. Her character didn’t do too much in the books, other than get blamed for treacheries yet to be revealed.
And finally :
-That’s one hell of a way to get Daemon’s attention lol. ‘You’re ex-mistress is here. We’re really good friends, come join us!’ Daemon will break the sound barrier getting back to Dragonstone.

I made it halfway through this episode before turning it off. Good lord this show is dull. The season is nearly over and we've had exactly 1 episode where something actually happened. 1. Daemon's haunting is incredibly overplayed, Rhaenyra's decisions are just bafflingly stupid, Aegon should have been soup after falling from that height - I just have so many problems with this show and it sucks because I loved GoT.
I want to like this but it's just so poorly written. I have no idea how the ratings for s2 are so high, feels like I must be watching a different show than everyone else.

This was a better episode than last week. But I’m still finding myself bereft of anyone to root for.
I just don’t feel enthused by either side. They’re like upper management of a failing company too busy playing musical chairs. And if the show can’t make me care who wears the crown? It follows I can’t really care about the show.

I think looking for someone to root for is a mistake because frankly, they're both terrible.
The Blacks have nothing real to offer beyond "lineage" and have shown that they can't actually be relied on to foster stability in the realm thanks to the general dislike of Rhaenyra as well as Daemon being, well, Daemon.
The Greens are the same having usurped the line of succession for the ambitions of lesser lords.
Aegon is unfit to rule, Aemond is a psycho, the Council are all money grubbers and Cole is a moron.
This is the beginning of the end for the greatest dynasty that ever lived.
Yeah at this point it is more just about watching the "train wreck" as opposed to having an obvious side to root for, imo. While I get where Doc is coming from about potentially being more invested when there is clearly someone to root for, I actually like that they have so far done a decent job of not making one side an obvious "correct" choice since that stays truer to what I expect from the GoT setting.
When we see the relief boats start coming ashore, that was an excellent scene of caring, or at least pretending to care, for the Little Folk. Those that provided you keep their bellies full and a roof over their head aren’t especially fussed which privileged nob is running the show. And the first glimmer of something I had cause to care about.
Hopefully it’ll brighten up from here. Because I do want to enjoy this show.

So two episodes left and after that two years of waiting for another season. I wonder how many will care about this show after that time, especially when season 2 feels like a one long filler episode.
Solid penultimate episode, if a little slow at the start.
Probs watch again real soon.

Finally a good episode. I hope for a nice battle ending that otherwise weak season. If my previous predictions are true then another heir will die there.
Pretty good season overall, with a few boring speedbumps, but I wish the story had progressed a bit further than where it left us. Another proper battle would’ve been welcome, for instance.
Spoiler:
I wonder who has Otto in custody? I’m going to guess the Greyjoys. Maybe he went to them to procure a fleet to oppose the Velarion fleet and it backfired on him, since they are treacherous whores. Or is it some other team Green treachery?
