So, on the subject of the new Mario Kart, I will say its probably not a better Mario Kart than 8DX but it is one of the best Cruis'n games I've played. Knockout Tour in particular is the highlight here despite appearing second to Grand Prix and if there's one feature sorely missing from the game its the ability to map out my own KO Tour route. These things are where the "world" finds its groove and easily what makes this game stand out as something that can stand alongside its essentially perfect predecessor.

I'm hoping so. The course selection menu lets you pick individual routes for single races. It shouldn't be TOO hard to select 6 of those to make your own, but I'm sure its not quite that simple.

Bad news, apparently people are finding that the switch 2 is already drifting for some. So many years to fix the issue and its apparently still a issue.

Honestly my Switch 1 joycons are in a boxsomewhere and its nothing to do with drift and everything to do with the fact that I'm human and have human hands.
Joycons are honestly BAD ergonomically.
I've used the Hori controllers for ages and I don't have big hands but they sit in the hand SO much more comfortably.

I have no idea how stick tech devolved like this. PS5 has the same problem and its absolutely ridiculous.

Gotta save 75 cents per controller by not using Hall effect sensors! Sure the joysticks they have right now drift badly, but 20 million times 0.75 is 15 million dollars saved for Nintendo, so I’m not surprised (but still annoyed) that they cheaper out.

Possibly. Sony having the same issue continually peaks my curiosity on the matter. It might simply be a matter of cost, but I'm curious if there's more to it. Seems like its partially a result of trying to remove any neutral zone. Seems like that's the sort of thing better solved with an overpriced pro controller for the people who would actually notice.
