Has there actually been any kind of promise about showing Dark Eldar off at Games Day, or is this just the Interwebs setting itself up for a rant at nothing, quoting unmade 'promises'

For those of you attending UK Games Day, I've some more good news: Jes Goodwin will be there to talk about the Dark Eldar and knowing Jes, show off some cool Dark Eldar-related stuff. If you haven't picked up a ticket to Games Day yet and if you live in the UK or Northern Europe, then you can order a ticket by clicking on this link. If you live anywhere else in the world, you'll need to use the 'Country Select' menu at the bottom of this page and select the United Kingdom for the link to work. At the moment this is all I know about the forthcoming Dark Eldar, but as usual I'll do my best to uncover some more information for you. Watch this space.

How much of a dork am I that I keep looking for more photos and info on the DE? I know I won't get them for a couple of months but I want to see them now! If I was rich I would have flown to Games Day UK just for DE tidbits.

It could also simply be that single Dark Eldar Warrior model that was spoiled.

Only in the absolute vaguest and loosest sense imaginable. GW will show something, and give some sort of status update, that could range from as little as "Jes has sculpted a handful of models and Phil is working on the Codex - we'll tell more after GD closes" to "we're actually going to release a Codex this year".

The way GW works, for all we know, Dark Eldar could herald a new "openness" about upcoming releases, with the announcement that DE won't release for at least another year, but we'll all get irregular "progress" updates as new stuff becomes available.

In the mean time, wiithout anything concrete actually said by GW, the Intarwebz spin away...

I tend to think the back page of White Dwarf saying something along the lines of "Hey look what we're releasing next month!" is pretty concrete confirmation.

From what I've seen, that's purely conjecture unsupported by actual fact or statement from GW.

Next month from the latest WD month would be November, as it is the October White Dwarf with a splash ad promoting Dark Eldar on the final page (which they do to promote their releases for the following month, as they have done with WD for years now). This was posted on the GW website last week and the WD should be out now too.
