size is definatly ok with Gw guardsman...
poses are boring... my still on sprue minis will hopefully receive some conversions work...
the arms are put together by the elbows... this is nice at first but gets old real fast... the rest is run of the mill stuff like the guardsmen minis...
one has to never forgett they are on the cheap side... so...
when you want to fill ranks realy fast then tehse minis help a lot...

on ebay the warzone deal is still on with 80! minis! for about 30 pounds P&P included...

Wow! the blue looks amazing. Has lots of depth to it. Still like the martian red though....

The darker one looks more menacing but the blue is striking.

go for the blue - add a few red details to set it off (buttons?) blue looks more 19th century

to make it claer they are the archenemies for the victorian army...so i was hesitant to add red to the scheme as this might tie them in to the victorians...
at perkustin...i fear the red you mention is a heavy washed vermin brown with devlan mud and badabblack...
the blue one is spacewolf grey and lighningbolt blue...with mostly badab black wash...
i think his uniform needs something to make him pop more...any suggestions else as to what color maybe than red...? i fear red is such an obvious choice for a blue and whitish scheme...what about black?

no pic update today but i have worked quite a bit on the victorian stemy guys...i just done flesh and moved after brown leather tones to metaltones...done 5 out of 10 with metal...after all are done with metal colors i will do the needed touchups and then begin my washing work^^
after that there are just the occaisional minor tweaks and i will hopefully have a full squad after all done^^

would be my first then... so cross fingers...

by they way the squad now firms under the name : the Venerables...how does that sound?

venerables sounds cool , and i prefer the baby blue makes them look aproachable , like a false sense of security , then bang! ... maybe a little yellow , or gold buttons like weety said. love the cream bedroll , how did you do that?

Yellow? Would give him a nice mordian feel.

hmmm begin to like the idea for golden/yellow coloraddition...
the mordian look is quite close to old prussian and general german feel i guess...

the creamroll is an easy recipe...youst take a real easy biscuite recipe and add a generous amount of flavored curd cheese...er...

no i just did it with deneb stone folowed with two to three washes of devlan mud... and if i recall correctly a wash of badab black as i overwash my minis too often^^

as for updates on the vernarables i promis to show pics of heavyly mutilated pain..t...jobs tomorrow^^

during painting work this error on the capes occurred...it somehow created this split and teared effect and i am only guessing here that it might have something to do with a bit to less primer on the surface of the cape...or any other cause for that... and then how do i treat it sufficiently?

I think you might actually want to keep those. Adds some texture to them.

Might want to think about making some of the beards ein bischen darker, though.

the faces have only seen basecoat so far... the beard and the rest of facial hair is to follow... tho i have to say i plan on making the beards a bit grey streaked...after all the term vernarables derives from their bearded santa like look...

about the crinks and torn feel of the cloaks...anvildude...you think i should keep this look...hmmmm...will have to think about that...they are now a bit white i fear they wont be there anymore after i start the use of washes on the models...

i think we have a missunderstanding here? what i was refering to was the texture on the lower regions of the capes... somehow the paint rips itself apart... never had that before....

I was trying to find those for you aswell. The guy had them all armed with the hellblaster guns i think?

I saw the paint cracking, i think it is something to do with humidity or the paint not mixed properly..
