I'm in the largest NC 'un on my server (WASP, Miller) and despite their pretences to tactical excellence, doctrines and whatnot... it really boils down to what you feel like doing. You just sign up for an op and hop in the platoon/squad that fits what you're doing.

What's impressive is that they have the infrastructure to support all that; namely a segmented Teamspeak with a nice group mechanic so that you can communicate directly with the higher-ups when you have to whilst still keeping squad/vehicle communications where they should be.

What would actually be useful is if everyone used a common place (this thread, maybe) to keep everyone else updated on what classes or vehicles they spend the most time and/or certs on, what they're best at, what they enjoy the most... Then, when a couple folks are on, people will know who has the best Sunderer, who's the best flyer for air support, who'll need a gunner for their Lib or tank, who'd the best Light Assault or Medics/Repairs the fastest...

Aye, it seems to me that a general "pool" of specialists would be a cool thing to have, so that you can build ad-hoc squads depending on people's preferences and availability.

Myself, I haven't really unlocked anything besides the Sunderer AMS, its ammo dispenser, and a cool pistol yet - but once account-wide unlocks are in I think of dropping some of the SC I have left from the Alpha Squad package on equipment (I'm really looking forward to replace my APC's second turret gun with that heavy mortar, for example).

For infantry combat, I still prefer the intense action and support significance of being a medic. I've lately learned that Infiltrators are rather fun as well, but that's not someting I would wish to focus on. Next up in terms of certs is the T1S assault rifle, which I'm going to kit out with some cool attachments like an underbarrel shotgun, Starship Troopers-style.

Well the last patch and the hotfixes that followed have put my FPS up considerably... the game feels practically optimised now

Thanks for bringing the thread back, I almost forgot about it, what do people think of the new roadmap feature, I think it's amazing!

I think I'd enjoy the game more if I didn't keep getting G30 errors since the new update.
