In scrounging around my sprues, I realised I've got almost all the bits for a Techmarine (which I need for my list). But in poking around bits websites, there don't seem to be any available. Does anyone know of a good 28mm bit I could use for this?
For those of you who don't play 40k, here's a pic of what the official model looks like. I'm not too concerned about being exactly the same, but it should be large-ish and have a grabby arm.

The Chirugeon backpack is more of an Apothecaries device then Techmarines. It'd work in a pinch no doubt though.
There are a variety of robotic servo arms available from Zinge Industries. You might find these useful.

How about one of the devastator backpacks, the missile launcher grabby arm is a bit small but who's to say that he's not on pin striping detail

I have this set aside, along with another identical arm that came on my Tac Marine sprue. I'll use these if I must, but was hoping for something a bit more official. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Wow, these look great! Unfortunately, most of them are currently out of stock. And also, $8 a bit isn't exactly cheap. At that point, I may as well just buy the Techmarine from GW. But good-looking models!

Use some styrene rods, strips, and tubes and craft your own. Google "techmarine conversion" and see how other people did it.

If you have a bit of conversion skills you could always scratchbuild one yourself. Use a regular backback, attack techy looking bits from your box. And for the arms your could use Plasticard stripes and attach guns/techy bitz to the ends. And there is also the quick and dirty method. Get a strudy wire and a plastic lollypop stick with a hole inside. Cut the stick into slices and glue it onto the wire. Quick Doctor Octopus style arms

So I don't understand how you make all those tubes out of plasticard. Isn't it a pretty stiff material?
Also, insaniak, underthecouch.net has been down for the last few days. Do we know when it will arise again?

The tubes come like that. The same guys that make the plastic sheets make all sorts of different tubes, rods, girders and the like which you will buy far too many of once you start building stuff out of them...

It's actually been down for a couple of months now, as the site was having some serious server issues that I didn't have time to look at it, and my host was starting to threaten dire things because it was affecting other customers on their server... The site will return in some form or another when I have time to actually sit down and design something.
