This is a GW event we're talking about here. I'll be surprised if they talk about anything other than the latest release available on the store front.

Or it could be Inquisimunda, new Epic or a free puppy. You never know.

I'd love for it to be some sort of skirmish scale game set in the 40K world, but I think "free puppy" is, in fact, more likely.

Apparently they like to be referred to as Space Wolves, Space Puppy is considered a bit un-PC.

Seminars will be hosted throughout the day. This year, members of the Design Studio will be talking about Warhammer 40,000 battles and the mysteriously-titled Project X. No, even I don’t know what it’s about, it’s top secret

Maybe it's 8th Edition 40k...

It'll either be that rumoured Planetstrike update, or whatever that BA/Ork box is for.

We're unlikely to find out much in the seminar that isn't already public knowledge.

I don't know, but GW actually hinting at a release more than 1 week in advance confuses and infuriates me.

I don't think the BA/Ork box is coming. GW mentioned they would be re-releasing Dark Vengeance with 7th ed rules a while back.

They only do it for pretty big things now. They can't be releasing a new edition of WHF this summer too, can they?

True. Weren't there rumours that this BA/Ork box was done, but was actually a single box release in a different scale?

I'd hope they arent announcing a new edition of WFB at the 40K open day, it'd be a bit of a letdown if the secret project announced at a 40K specific event wasnt actually 40K related.

It's not so much hinting at a release as saying 'there will be a release', which is the only certainty with GW...

It'd be interesting to go down and hear what they have to say about a few things.

Where the Sisters at Jes? You hinted at them back in 2010 when Dark Eldar were re-released!

As for project X, it seems to be suggest that it will be out by the time the open day happens.

To be honest, I think people are possibly getting a little too excited about this. Yes, they say the project is 'top secret', but this is GW; until it goes on pre-order, every release is so top secret it doesn't exist outside of their HQ (or so they think). We know there will be a release that week as there always is. It will be the latest release of something as it's not a new product then of course there have been previous releases of it.

I'm not trying to dampen anyone's spirits, but I'll be surprised if this is anything more than the normal weekly release.

Haven't the weekly releases been slipping recently? I know we've had Orks the last couple but before that there seemed to be a dry spell. I might be wrong because I've not been paying terribly close attention.

Definitely think that it will be about something released that week. Whether that's interesting enough to go down for is another matter. Certainly as Brook pointed out one of the chaps works on WD and while he might be the nicest guy in the world I'm not too bothered about hearing what he was to say. Give us the design studio or even just drag FW's Alan Bligh out for a chat...
