Trying out units this weekend trying to figure out the changes and what I want to buy. Most of this will be proxied.
HQ: 185
Warboss, PK, BP, Da Lucky Stick 115
Weirdboy, Warphead 70
Troops: 569
30 Shoota Boyz, Nob, PK 295
12 Slugga Boyz, Nob, PK, Trukk 137
12 Slugga Boyz, Nob, PK, Trukk 137
Elites: 130
10 Tankbustaz 130
Fast: 166
7 Bikers, Nob, PK, BP 166
Heavy: 500
10 Lootas 140
10 Flash Gitz 220
1 Battle Wagon, Killkannon140
Total: 1500
I noticed a lack of fire power and mobility in my army so I am trying Trukk Boyz and different Heavy Weapons. Also the Weirdboy Powers look awesome!
Any advice? I have only played Horde.

Why not try to fit the Warboss on a bike to go with your bike squad. It would help with his save and re-rolls.
Is the warphead going with the 30 boys? I think that is where he should go.
I think the Tank bustas could use a trukk as well.

The Warboss and the Warphead will be in the middle of the 30 shoota boyz. That means they will have 30 guys to die before them. As for giving the Warboss armor anyone that challenges will either be AP 2 or 3 so it won't help him. I used to give him a 5++, but that is gone.
Boss in a Bike Squad sounds good, but those guys get their butts kicked. I am lucky if they survive 1 round of assault. I have started using them for Dakka and jumping in to finish off a fight.
I did think about giving the Tank Bustas a Trukk, but could not find anything else to cut. Suggestions?
Also does Da Lucky Stick count as a BP? The fluff says it is used as one, but the rules for it don't mention it. If it is shift the BP fom the 30 and the Bikes to the Trukk Boyz.

Trukks can be taken as dedicated transport by pretty much anything that walks now.
Drop the BP from the Nobz to give your Warboss 'Eavy Armour. 4+ savesville.
Lucky Stikk does not count as a BP. It's more like a WAAAGH Banner with reroll benefits and a nasty fail if you reroll three or more times in the same turn.

I don't think I have ever taken an Armor save with my Warboss. 31 Orks have to die before he ever gets hit with a regular weapon. No ++ means all challengers bypass my armor. It is a waste of points. Mega would be ok, but it screws his Boyz out of overwatch.
Thanks for Da Lucky Stick info.
I know Tank Bustas can have a Trukk, I just dont know if cutting Orks is worth not walking. I have cut almost all equipment even most BPs.

Yeah I wouldn't assault with bike ever. Just use them to shoot at units to soften up for your other boys to charge. The bikes are better off just shooting anyways. You are probably right with the boss. But the 4+ can help save against failed "Look out Sir". Just a thought and it only being 4 points it's not a big investment. You could drop the PK from the shoota boys? That could give you some points to play with. Da lucky stikk really isn't helping you at the moment. You could swap it for the "Da Fix'n Kap" Get two rolls on the Warlord chart. You might get reroll save anyways on there. Or give him the DDSShoota. Having a shoota in the shoota squad that shoots 6 shots out can only be helpful to the squad IMHO. The difference between 10 and 8 Flash Gitz I have noticed is not that much. That can give you some points back as well. Again these are all just some ideas. The list is fine I think they way it is.

I am using the DLS mostly for the WAAAGH!!! Banner 5WS. The Rerolls are just icing on the cake.
I have used the DDSS, it was probably the best 5 points I have ever spent. It was on a second WB.
I will have to look at the Warlord Chart and think about the Finkin Cap.
I do tend to use my Nob to fight Challenges so my Boss doesn't get wasted. I might take his Klaw away.
How do the Flash Gitz perform and do you have any advice for using them? I figured if a squad could lose a few bodies it would be them.
Thanks,

I love my Gitz, I used a 10 man squad last ed with my Orks. Even on foot they were nice. I think with their 6+ save now they need a wagon, which thankfully they got as a dedicated ride. My first 7th ed game I rolled Ap 1 twice and Ap 2 once. they were great. Of course it was against Orks as well so I didn't really need the low AP. But hey it was fun none the less. I say try them out for sure. I wouldn't go less then 8 though. You want enough of them to hit.

Yea, was thinking of putting them in the BW. That front armor laughs at anything that isn't melta.
I'm thinking of sitting at the starting line and just blasting everything in range so I can keep them at BS3.

With that much experience, do you have any guidlines? Like you must do this or that. Or these things work or don't.
I played Space Wolves around 2000 and hadn't played until a few months ago. I went with Orks for fluff, fun and KILLY.

Well I don't mathhammer with Orks just because it doesn't seem to work. They are the opposite of the law of averages IMHO.
I have played so many different style of Orks and they all have done pretty well for me. From Speed Freeks to Kan wall to Battlewagon Rush. They all work great you just have to be ready to lose models. Don't spend a lot on individual models. Except that Orks have a hard time killing armor at range so try to ignore it and kill all his troops. Orks are so much fun to play. I really enjoy out shooting Marines. In fact I pretty much only do shooty Orks nowadays. They just like to hoot more so then hit in CC. Its weird but they like what they like. It helps to think like an Ork as well. ie. If you believe it will happen. Most of all have fun with them and they will work better for you.

Some have suggested Boss on a Bike, and it's usually a good plan, but I tend to use my Bikes as tank hunters or to take down pesky enemy units. They have great mobility and can get in people's faces fast. I often don't shoot with them though unless its to soften up their own charge.
In all honesty, I'm not sure what I think of Flash Gitz, even with their numerous changes this edition. I feel they soak up too many points, and don't offer enough in return. While they may be 'lootas 2.0' in a way, being Nobz with shooty guns and better AP at times, I still feel they can't succeed where Lootas excell. Lootas cost less, much less, and can often do a better job with a further reach.
If I had to suggest anything, I'd drop the Gitz, and go for another squad of Lootas :3 Maybe stick a squad behind a Defense Line.

@Malevolence I agree with you. I am afraid they won't be able to carry their weight, but I want to give them a chance. They have sweet Pirate Models and fluff, but S5 is pretty weak. I was hoping for S6.
Also I am disappointed that the FG Leader can't take options.
I have been thinking about buying the CroMag Defense Line from WarGamma.com, but wasn't sure if it was worth the points or if I should buy the Gun option. Thoughts?

As far as the Flash Gitz to Loota debate. I tend to use two squads of Lootas as well as a squad of Gitz. They are both rather awesome at shooting and both have their weakness. I totally missed that they had only S5 now. That does hurt them a bit bit. But still having AP 1-2 or even 3 from time to time is all the love I need with them.
The warboss can still help going tank hunting if that is what you want to do with bikes. He has a Klaw and the Nob has a Klaw that's two Klaws to attack with. Or you can purely use him to soak wound. Just buy a bike and that's it. He has 3 wounds to soak up wounds with, helps the bikes survive. Just because he is a boss and a warlord doesn't mean you have to keep him alive. Once he takes two wounds move him to the back of the squad so he doesn't get hit anymore. Just some ideas.

I ended up in a team game with a tiny deployment zone as such I got hammered with blasts early on, so it wasn't a fair and accurate test.
Lessons Learned:
Lootas Killy, spread them out in cover.
Tank Bustas inaccurate, but hit hard when they do. Busta Bombs hurt when a Tank blows up in your face, but they died with Tanked'ons.
BW with Killkannon is Dead Hard and Killy.
Flash Gitz, I need to be more aggresive with them, but the AP is very unpredictable. Not sure about them yet.
Trukk Boyz need to charge soft targets, there just aren't enough to return wounds on I2 and Klaw time.
Bikkerse survive longer if there are multiple threats on the board.
The new WAAAGH!! and Ere we go increase our charge range dramatically.
Thoughts?

Since we have a codex can we use the standard Force Org from The Rules?
If so that fixes one of my problems. I have been toying with the idea of running:
2 Warbosses in BW with 19 Shootas. Then make my Gitz walk.
Although I like having a Psyker, Warbosses always perform. I just feel I am missing out / wasting a phase if I don't have one.
I do aggree with another of your threads. Orks can be very shooty. Especially when you take into account In2 and Klaws.

Why do you need Warbosses in with Shootas? Big Meks can work better. Hell just a regular Mek can help with repairing it.
Although I like having a Psyker, Warbosses always perform. I just feel I am missing out / wasting a phase if I don't have one.
I think a Weirdboy would be better on the ground in a unit for sure. I haven't figured out if I am going to use a Weirdboy ever. I am just not a fan of them. They still are not that great. I am sure he will get dispelled pretty easily too. Just by there shear number of Psykers. I could be wrong.

I use Warbosses with my because they always end up in melee and single Warboss can out perform a mob. Also now that we have to take Ld Checks 9 is way better than 7.
I have thought about using Big Meks, but they but for on 25 pts more you get +1 to every stat except for BS.
Dispell is only really a threat when you are playing against, GK, Eldar and Deamons. On average we can cast 1.5 spells per turn, the opponent might be able to dispell 1.
In your list, is your Meks only purpose to carry a KFF or is he doing something else?
