Hey guys I've been buying more and more FW lately, and have found myself frustrated trying to hold the model togther without getting my fingers stuck for the minutes it take for it to dry and bond. And while glue accelerator works great, I find I just don't have the 3 arms necessary to us it properly.

Does anyone out there know of a good superglue that doesn't take ages to dry?

IME, ALL superglues dry pretty quickly. If they don't then you are probably using TOO MUCH of it.

For best results, you need the best contact between parts that you can get (no gaps) and a small amount of glue. While I realise that this isn't usually possible given FW's iffy QA, it can be fixed to a point where it CAN be done.

Accelerant just REDUCES the strength on a superglue bond anyway (seriously. the chemistry involved doesn't argue).

Pretty much ANY superglue (bar those sold by GW) should do the job quite well.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Its literately just called Army Painter Super Glue.

If you are struggling to hold the joint in place and it isn't a joint that needs a strong join then accelerator can be a godsend. However if it is a joint that must be strong as it is load bearing then you should be pinning, this removes all the effort with holding stuff in place.

For long joins that you can't pin the length of, like say the sides of a Fire Raptor, multiple clamps are essential. I'll often soften the bent part of the resin with heat, glue it in place then clamp it to get it straight.

Only other thing is if both sides are not airtight then the join will take longer, as will if they are covered in mold release.

You'll want superglue activator. i forgot the brand I have, but it's basically the same as this: http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/Wargames-Marine-Space-Chaos-Hobby-BNIB-Army-Painter-Magic-Superglue-Activator-/390672255270?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item5af5e18926

Seems expensive but last a very long time, and it makes superglue harden instantly.

One pro-tip for using it, ditch the spray head, and just dip a cotton stick in the fluid and hold the tip on or near the freshly glued seam. It instantly hardens the glue one even the vapour of the activator hits the glue. great, great stuff. I seriously couldn't model without it anymore. Screw holding parts together, even if only for a few seconds.

As above.. Any cyano acrylate will dry in seconds.. Not sure how fast youre expecting it to be? But if you can afford the bits its definately worth getting a pin drill and pinning the parts when you glue them

One brand I swear by in the USA is called Zip-kicker and is found in most hobby shops. Word of caution though, the chemical reaction that cures the glue causes it to heat up. Be sure you don't have glue on you fingers when you spray the model!

I picked up some Tesco Super Glue Gel, used this on my Forge World stuff with pretty good results.

I find Loctite Ultra Control Gel works well with my Forgeworld models.

superglue is.... well superglue really, they are all prettymuch the same, but different viscosities alter work times etc and LESS is MORE in this case, try to use as little as you can, just a small dot is all you will need. It took me years to actually learn that, you really dont need full surface coverage on a part for it to do its job, it will just take ages to dry and frost like nobodies business.
With the activator/kicker try spraying ONE side only and letting it evaporate then after 30secs or so put a dot on the other piece and bring them together, holding for 10 seconds ought to do it for a nice clean permanent join. A little light scoring with your hobby knife will help "key" the surface and give stronger joints too.

You need to use Zip Kicker to make your superglue set quickly.

A trick I found using Krazy Glue Advanced Formula was to let the glue sit for a minute. A dab in the socket, works especially well on metal bits, and leave it open to the air for a bit. Then push in the arm/gun whatever in place, push firmly and give the smallest twist until you feel resistance and it should stay in. Allowed me to glue together The Red Terror that had been sitting unassembled for nine years.
