Ok basing it off the Wookieepedia description I decided to try my hand at this little ship I always found so interesting in the ccg.
Scout pilot

Attack 2
Agility 3
Hull 3
Shields 1
Actions: focus, barrel roll, evade, target lock
Upgrades: elite pilot talent
cost 20 pts
Unique version
Black squadron scout
PS4
Attack 2
Agility 3
Hull 3
Shields 1
Actions: focus, barrel roll, evade, target lock
Skill:
Action: may assign a free target lock action to a friendly ship within range 1-3.
Upgrades: elite pilot talent
cost 26 pts
Thoughts? Like it hate it. Feedback welcome.

So its a tie fighter with a shield, target lock and EPT slot for +8 points?
Looks pretty terrible to me. Also pilot skills dont usually require actions to be able to use them.

Well thank you. That was helpful. You know when people ask for feedback it generally helps to make suggestions for bettering something not just being basically "nope don't like it"

I think he's saying to reduce the points a bit.
Also, I'm not really sure what role this fills in the Imperial fleet that a TIE Advanced doesn't, so game-wise it's not much of an addition.
Fluff-wise, I've never heard of it, but again, it seems an awful lot like a TIE Advanced. If you want to make it interesting, differentiate it from the TIE Advanced and TIE Fighter a bit more. To be honest, it mostly sounds like something that was made up to add cards to the CCG.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k. Rule #1 - BBAP

It really kinda was to add more variations to the card game. The main issue is that the Vanguard is a shielded variant of the TIE/RC, which itself is merely a variant of the standard TIE/LN. Its only "unique" factor was the bent hex panels. However, to be helpful: it should be Attack 1 as they replaced one of the laser cannons with additional sensors. Personally, I'd also remove Focus, it just feels wrong on a recon ship. I'd remove the Elite Pilot Talent upgrade on the PS2 version.

Doesn't seem to fit the way the ships are done now:
- Only ships with way higher PS than 2 or 4 have elite pilot talents (from what I've noticed anyway, only have a few TIES and Xwings)
- Only unique named pilots have their own abilities
And yes, it should have reduced firepower as it has one gun.
Also, there are way more interesting Imperial ships that haven't been done yet:
TIE/d
Missile Boat
Scimitar Assault bomber

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.” |
