Hey gents/ladies!
Now I got a question for all you tabletop gamer's! What substances do you abuse when you play game! I usually play with people who drink and my personal group smokes "stuff" while gaming.
Just curious what do you do when you play game? If you prefer to be sober Great! You had a drunken brawl cause you were to drunk! Well lets hear it!
And I am not speaking of tournaments just what you do with your friends!
Personally I think it adds to the narrative when the guy your playing against is role-playing the commander of his army you usually have a blast!

Since quite a few of us spend a lot of time on our models painting....and the money involve. All parties refrain from drinking and smoking "recreational" substance.

I always keep a tube of poly cement and super glue handy. The super glue for field repairs and the poly cement for sniffing between turns.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. If gaming at home/friends house, a few beers in moderation. At the FLGS just soda and chips, with a pizza break between rounds of tournaments.
While the concept of beerhammer sounds fun, I put far too much time and cash into my army to risk a drunk and disorderly incident.

I don't abuse anything.
I'll drink from booze when I feel like it, but I know my limits.
Everything else is illegal in my area and my company does random drug screens. I like being gainfully employed.

I feel abused with the various substances I need to use in order to game (model glue, primer, decal set, gap filler, epoxy, crazy glue...).
Honestly, to play 40k "properly" hurts the unhindered mind as it is, why make it even more challenging? (or we could possibly relate to the mindset of the rules creators but would need some hard drugs indeed).

This sentence comes dangerously close to promoting substance abuse. Bear in mind that Dakka is a family-friendly site, and as such plays host to a wide variety of age groups.
It's one thing to say that you drink/smoke during games, but it's another entirely to make 'substance abuse' out to be an integral part of the experience.

Substance abuse? Substance abuse?!
Any substance worth abusing is expensive. After paying GW's overinflated prices to play this game, how are we supposed to have any money left over to afford properly abusable substances?
Warhammer 40K: a crack addiction would be cheaper.

My old group used to frequently have cocktails during games when we played at a private residence. I find I can deal with my atrocious dice rolling better when I am a bit sauced. Now, I play mainly at the LGS, so I just have to rage at my dice and remember a time when chemicals made losing fun.

Usually if i'm at a FLGS i just drink caffeine and eat lots of gummy bears and protein bars.
At a friends house I like to enjoy a nice peaty scotch, like laphroaig, or a rye whiskey like bullliet. Beer is nice but once you break the the royal seal you must visit the porcelain prince to pay your tithe every 10 minutes or so.
At the local GW I make sure to wear rubberdoll suits and snort a lot of PCP before I whip out my models and pray to slaanesh for guidance. May the dice roll 6s, for that is your number my dark lord :snort: The kids love it.

Random Dude wrote:Isn't the minimum age for Dakka 13? Think about the people who could be viewing this thread. Yes we have younger gamers on Dakka, many of which might even be able to drink alcohol depending on where they are located (Germany lets you enjoy beer at 16). Some locations even let people legally use drugs. So I think it's fine if we talk about what some of us do while gaming, but we don't want to cross the line of telling other people that they should do it too especially if they are under age. Also: God help us when Avatar becomes the voice of reason...
