So over the last five years or so I've been slowly collecting a Grymm (http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?category=miniatures~grymn-close-combat) army.

I have finally decided that I will use the Tau codex to represent them on the table top but need something to represent Riptides that looks similar to this but is closer to the 20cm I think a Riptide is:

Have you looked for mecha models like from macross or gundam? I can't help you with scale or which to use. But you could head over to http://www.hlj.com/ and seach through their walker models. There might be something in there that has the right size and look.

Any idea of the sizes?

Dust ones would be ideal, I've actually found some 1/36 Dust Gunthers in my sprue box that are about 8" tall, so thats my riptides, the hasslefree walkers will do for crisis suits, battlesuits are between 3 and 4", which Dust ones, preferably Axis are that size?
