Hello everyone! I have been in the hobby since around 2000 and I am stepping up my efforts with my Imperial Guard army. I joined up with DakkaDakka when I saw the amazing scratch built vehicles that were featured in the forums. If anyone could give me some pointers on builds for tanks that would be great. I am working on some scratch built Leman Russ tanks and am having trouble getting clean fits like I have seen in the forum.

Be exact with everything. Use a ruler(in cm) and always trace out what you're cutting. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's because I build my tanks from scratch with plasticard.

Welcome to Dakka!
Measure twice (in CM) and cut once. Dry fit parts too!
I also use a lot of index cards to test fit parts, then use the index card templates to cut out my pieces.
