Or at least, is there a good reason?

I just got a demo and am rather suddenly hooked on Imperials, but wasn't sure if there's some important cards or pilots/ship tokens I'd be missing if I just got a few packs of Imperial Aces with no stand-alone Interceptor packs.

Yeah, Soontir Fel. Also, I seem to remember that Aces does not come with the cheap generic (PS 1+3) interceptors.

Basically, what godless-mimicry said. Put push the limits on Fel and watch you opponent cry as they try to hit him. Then try going near the Falcon and watch Fel explode in a giant firey ball...

For the same reason, 2 starter sets will get you a bunch of Tie's but you still want the Tie single expansion for Howlrunner.

Yeah, I seem to have discovered that. And I can't seem to find a way to buy those accessories separately. Guess both are needed, then!

Thanks guys

I've not got either of the Aces Pack but AFAIK don't they contain just named pilots as opposed to the normal Squadron Pilots?

I like using named Characters but I like to keep the majority of my ships as Generic Squadron pilots. Just for fluff reasons really. Exceptional individuals should be rare.

Both Aces packs come with Generic pilots. I just checked my Rebel Aces to be sure.

The PS1 and PS3 Generics aren't listed as in the Imperial Aces pack just the Blister. You do get the PS4 though, and then the unique to Aces PS6 generic.

Except even in the movies they're not. The majority of the X-Wing pilots from the movies are now named pilots in this game, and all of the TIE Fighters from the first movie are.

If at all possible, you should try to pick up at least one of each expansion, large and small, including the tie - they all have something useful, whether a pilot, upgrade or whatever.

I aim for one of each large and two of each small, with the occasional splurge (4 bombers, 2 aces, 10 ties. Oops).
