It just really frustrates me that an icon isn't on a six because it would be so cool if seeing the icon was a good thing instead of a "Nooooooo" moment.

Why would GW do this?

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).

No idea. Kills all desire for them from me.

Maybe because everyone else puts the symbol on the six they think they can copyright this slowed on the one design.

I have wondered about this too, and it has kept me from buying such dice.

Between

Because the symbol is a single icon, just like the 1 on the die, and 40k players are too stupid to realise that it's supposed to be a 6 if it doesn't have 6 things on it or a number 6.

In my dice collection are dice from International TableTop Day d20 and Pirate Goblins (IndieGoGo campaign) showing the logo on the high face; and dice from Munchkin (SJG), Kobolds Ate My Baby! (Ninth Level), Free RPG Day (Chessex, I believe) and the Nugget Casino in Sparks, NV, all marked on the low face. A small sample, to be sure, but tends to support 'logo on low face' dominance.

Battlefront made the same mistake with their Flames of War dice, but did eventually come to their senses and change it to the 6.

Because they are not space marines... Only space marines can be on the 6

All my dice are skulls on the sixes.

Because this is warhammer 40k and your power is directly proportionate to the number of skulls you have.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I once played a guys who was using a mixed bag of dice some had icons on the ones and some on the sixes. It was extremely frustrating as every time he rolled I had to double check and then point out that not all of those sixes he rolled were actually sixes.

Well, that's an inhabit.
I never know if the icon on a GW die counts as one or six.
I never use those dice.

Well how many dice is in there? 10? For Tyranids that is not enough dice. All I could think for is that they are used for the Psychic Phase Leadership tests. 1's are always great for Ld test.

Other wise, as someone mentinoed, single Ripper, so it's a one.

Not a big deal but would have been nice to see it pop as a 6. Then again only the cover is nicely done, the dice is so much less quality wise, with no teeth, no claws, that I guess, not seeing a one is no big deal since the quality of the Ripper is not the same on the tin cover.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

did anyone else notice that the picture of the icon on the die on the box it comes in is more detailed then what is on the die itself?

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

I posted that in the Tyranid rumors thread, so yeah I noticed. I looked in the White Dwarf too and interestingly the dice used in the product photo there also have more detail than what's on the website.

If you think that's spastic I played an American army in FoW once and we both had our respective dice. My 2nd SS wolf angel rune is on the 6, the US army star is on the 1. Whyyyy?

They changed the dice from the 1 to the 6 due to people complaining, the American dice must have been an old set.
