Well, I guess the question is how fast can you paint table-top quality? For example, can you paint TTQ Marines in under an hour?
Do you have time to paint a unit of, say, 10 duders in a week? Realize that you're looking at probably 10 hours, so if you have a part time job, that makes you full time, you follow? Hard to make it to new interviews for other jobs.
What are you hoping to charge? Keep in mind, that if you want to make minimum wage [$11.00 an hour in Ontario] and it takes you 10 hours to paint a squad of Marines, you'll be charging $110 to paint $50 worth of minis. Do you know many people that would pay $160 for a painted tactical squad?
Do you have someone with a little knowledge of legalese? Consider what happens if you don't have a contract, and someone decides to not pay? You've just worked for free, because the property [models] belong to the owner, regardless of condition.
Explaining what TTQ means to someone without doing a model or two for them is challenging, as buyers want the moon and the stars, while you're actively trying to provide down-to-Earth results.
