Hmmm, I've seen some amazing work done with these guys. Here are some pic's I pulled up that are my personal favorites.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

Best one I've ever seen is definitely Anja Wettergren's (of 'Eavy Metal). I've searched and searched online but can only find these low res pics of her model, apologies;

Spoiler:

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)

Yeah that one is pretty good.

I personally tried to go with a, big surprise, ww1 type scheme on mine but using blues instead of greys and what not

Well it depends tbh. What warzone do you envision them fighting over? Mine wear tan coats, dark grey helmets, red/brown gas masks, & blue/grey trousers.

With DKoK it's just tempting to cover them in weathering head to toe until every color dissolves into a grey-brown smear.

If you look more for a parade-ground look, copper and tin colors are a refreshing sight and convey both, heavy use and lots of polishing between combat deployments.

Would black and yellow work with the DKoK?
