Hi everyone,

Any strong feelings on what color Tyranid blood / guts ought to be?

Orks are chopping some up for fuel - going to make a decision shortly on how to paint the ends of limbs and torsos....

- Red seems like one easy angle
- Green seems like another (prime "alien" color)
- Many bugs/crawlers (beetles, spiders) have sort of yellow guts in real life - maybe that's better ??

Got the Tyranid codex to learn more background. Other than seeming very scary - didn't seem to indicate.

(Tyranid body parts will be in the Tenda of the Dakka Chugga - getting close to gluing in the parts.... http://battlegaming1.blogspot.com/2014/11/warhammer-40k-dakka-chugga-update.html)

Thanks

Frankly, the best color for them is whatever best complements the other colors in the army/model's palate. There's no concrete "this is what gut colors" are that I know of, so consider it from an artistic angle. What would be best for contrast and complementary colors?

Look at the skin color of the Nids and there ya go. Kraken would likely have red blood, while Leviathan would likely have closer to a cyan or other soft blue and so on from there.

proably red as that's apparently the most efficant blood.

still I've found a website that seems to cover differnt types of known blood, should give ya a starting point

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I went with the Kraken painting style, and their guts are bloody red.

Which is good, because alot of my carapace painting mistakes can be "converted" into wounds with the slice of a thumbnail

Depends on the Tyranids. They have widely varying skin pigmentation, why wouldn't they have widely varying internal pigmentation to go with it?
