I am thinking of starting an Imperial Guard collection, which will be exclusively Infantry and sentinels.

I have to admit though, I am not really keen on any of the GW models (Voystron are ok, but the rest are a bit meh). I would also like my minis to look pretty unique when painted up, so was wondering if anyone had any ideas for alternative models out there?

My current favourite alternative would be for either a British Empire themed army, using WGF minis as the base, or the Eisenkern Stormtroopers from the same guys.

Any other leads on alternatives greatly appreciated, especially sentinels!

Check out Anvil Industries. http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/ I plug them whenever I can.

Might not be the sort of thing you are after, but the quality is great.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

When I saw the title I was about so suggest the Eisenkern, but you already know them :-D
Just be careful with their size, I might be wrong but I think they are taller than regular guardsmen, Space Marine sized.

The Eisenkern miniatures? They look brilliant, and are in high-grade plastic

I use them as Elysian stormtroopers & they look alright actually. Kinda tall but not too much so that couldn't be justified with their armour.

Will be watching the suggestions in this one. Been toying with the idea of starting Praetorian Guard as my 2nd/3rd army (once the first 1-2 are painted up).
