As the title states how do you go about making or finding minature posters for terrain? I am making a ruined city board next and I thought a few posters here and there on buildings would look cool.

What a simple and yet great idea that for some reason never occurred to me -- posters on terrain! Never occurred to me! Brilliant!
Never done this before, but my first stab at this will be with some green stuff, a rolling pin, an exacto knife and your standard purity seal paint job.

Here you go:

Some are Infinity-specific, I think, but there's enough generic stuff on there to add some colour and detail to any sci-fi/modern game. They're already to scale, do just print, PVA and apply to terrain!

Good call, I think posters & signs add a lot to "finishing up" a terrain piece:
Gitsplitta has some available here
I have some more collected over time ( WH40K realeted, generic, warning signs and posters), PM a mail address if you like and I'll send them on.
As for the how, inkjet printed, sprayed matt varnish, weathering wash if required, and glued in place.

If you are going to stick them straight onto walls "gluing" them on with matt Varnish works and you can then give the front a quick varnish too, in order to seal them onto the wall. If you use an inkjet - do it fast or the ink will run
|
How do you expect me to know what it is if you haven't painted it! Unpainted models are just proxies for the real thing |

This is exactly what I've done. I did a search for "warhammer 40k poster" and it came up with a number of fantastic ones, already scaled to the appropriate sizes.
Stick them into your favorite word processor or graphics software, print them out on paper and glue them to your terrain.
Once you've done that, go over it with a light coat of varnish to seal it and you're set.
They make a HUGE difference in the look of terrain IMO. It just seems to add that certain something that is otherwise missing.

Topsolitario never fails to amaze me. His website is a great resource.
I printed a bunch of movie posters for buildings in my All Things Zombie campaign a few years back. I just rescaled the appropriate images and had them printed on 4x6 photo paper at the nearest 1hr photo place.

Here are some I made. They are really easy. I made the poster in photoshop, and then printed it out small. Glued it to the wall - gave it a coat of glue for protection and then added some weathering.
Here is the photoshopped image itself if you'd like to use it.
