...is that I don't hate them. I will certainly be getting Bowser, Mega Man, Little Mac, and Wind Waker Link to hide out near the computer. Wave 1 didn't really do much for me but the following waves have been better. I don't see them going over as well as Skylanders or Infinity but I imagine they will find some use.

Spoiler:

Indeed I already have most of Wave one, They're pretty good quality for what they are. Except Link... Whoever made the call to put that stupid ass yellow support bar there on a flagship character wasnt thinking quite right.

Nintendo is pretty damn smart. Most people seem to complain about DLC that could have just been part of the original game, but they relased something that is essentially DLC, and everybody wants it. I'm personally waiting for Ike.

To be fair Nintendo's handling real DLC in a good way as well. Between the MK8 DLC's and how they've handled the Hyrule Warriors DLC's Im rather pleased. Good amount of content for the price. Especially if you buy the bundle's for them then its only better.

Eh, I'll wait until Lucina to get one. If I get one at all.

And good timing as well. It's not like they are revealing something a week after the game was released (which to me just mean they want money out of it). All in all, nintendo is still one of, if not the, most intelligent game companies around. They seem to be ignoring the "console war" completely, not really caring about having the best graphics or whatever, just making visually pleasing, fun games.

And continuing to prove its not graphical power, it's what is done with the hardware that counts. Yes the WiiU is less powerful than the other two consoles but the game looks so friging nice on the WiiU it's shocking.

Has anyone seen the trailer and game play of Zelda WiiU or xenoblade chronicles X at all? My goodness.

On topic...... I'm hoping for a Captain Toad amiibo. Id buy that in a heart beat

He'll come eventually. Just wait for the later waves(stores are already prepping shelves for wave 2).

My issue is the same as other toy collecting: distribution and case assortment. Cases are too skewed with the big names and not enough of the others(finding a Villager has become my Grail Quest), leading to some very pegwarmer heavy displays. They could really take pointers from Hasbro's new way of packing(equal distribution for all!).

Same with Marth, I've only ever seen one in person, and I bought it as quick as possible

They're also pretty decent in the game too. Much better than the standard CPUs.

We need to set up an online hunt & trade group, obviously.

I find myself sorely tempted by these but thankfully I still don't understand what they are/do.

They have a storage space on them that stores an AI's "experience", that develops over time in response to you playing with them after having scanned the figure using your system. Also they're nice looking figurines.

For some games, like Mario Kart, they unlock that character for the game.

So you can play Link in Mario Kart if you get the Link Amibo?

What if you get the Mario Amibo?

Link is available in Mario Kart 8 via DLC, an amiibo is not needed to play. He has a pretty sweet bike.

Apparently Little Mac came out today so I checked this morning and he was already sold out everywhere before even being released. I saw a story of a guy going into a store and buy all the Amiibos they had. The secondary market for these has become something terrible and dark. Someone is selling Amiibos on Amazon for $17 more than the standard price.

I don't own a Wii U, but apparently Toys R Us canceled all their preorders for certain figures because of this. People were walking into a store and buying up ALL the preorder tags. So they relisted certain figures with a 1 per person limit.

I'm hoping the Captain Toad Amiibo is a plushi. That would be amazing.

I have only seen one Amiibo in a store so far, and that was the Mario one that comes in the big Smash game box. I went for the gamecube converter instead.

I'm hoping that Nintendo just didn't expect to sell this many Amiibos, and that they're more common in the future. I'd really like to get some of them.

A friend of mine is making a full amiibo army and codex for 40k just for fun.

Kind of odd how things so simple can be used in so many ways

To add insult to injury unknown Amiibos are limited and already out of production after an initial run for resalers. I mean fans. Little Mac being one of those one and done figs so now you would need to pay at least double the MSRP to get him... if you are lucky.

Its crazy how quickly these things can go. The Limited Editions of Majora's Mask have been selling out almost instantly when they get announced somewhere. Limited runs make me sad would have really enjoyed that Skull Kid figure

Doesn't make a lot of sense. I would've thought these things would be a license to print money. Why are they so limited?

Because even god agrees that Nintendo has mysterious ways.
