I've meditated on what I'd potentially like to see in a new Necron codex. I've compiled a list of amendments that makes sense in my head. Keep in mind, I don't expect all of these to come to fruition, but would like to see a few implimented. Here it goes:
Move cryptek special characters (ie Szeras, Orikan, Toholk) into a non-force org hq status so they don't count as an HQ choice. (We're special. Haven't you got the memo?)
Give the Overlord special characters their CCBs again. (How inhumane is it that Kutlakh has his whip, and Imotehk has to beat his feet?)
Increase the cost of weapons like Staff of light and Gauntlet of Fire, and give them at least a hint of a melee profile (Ever hit someone with a wet noodle?)
Add an Anti-psyker Harbinger set. Harbinger of the Void has a nice ring. ( Yeah, I'm looking at you Mr. Culexus...)
Lower the cost for a C'tan shard and require them to deep strike from reserves. (Holly-boo-bali....Shazzam!!)
Move C'tans, Imotehk, and Kutlahk into the LoW slot. (There's no better way to patronize the old brass by retiring the rust)
Make MSS a one time use item that has a permanent effect on the target of your choice. (I mean really, how many sycophantic sheeple do you need man?)
Give all Canoptek models an Initiative of 4. (Just b/c the C'tan gave us a lemon, doesn't mean we make lemonade. Necrons are supposed to be the masters of time, space, and archeo-tech! You mean to tell me they couldn't figure out what an oil can is?)
Three words: Canoptek Guardian-Beast. (Yeah, you fanboys know what I'm talking about...)
Make Maynarhk crazies our Battle Brothers. (Double CADs blow. Tourney don't likey. Seriously, if the Dark Angels and Space Wolves could have a spot of tea n crumpets together, can't two Ancient Aliens break brea...err, necks together?)
Give Flayed ones Shred, Hatred, or Rampage. (They're not here to butter bread, they're here to butta yer muffin...)
Give Triarch Stalkers Smash and Outflank. (Why do we have to be the red-headed step child of the Walker family? Jimmy would be ashamed! Currently the itsy-bitsy spider is true to form in spectacular lacklusterness!) yeah I know that's not a word smart arse
Lower costs on Tomb Blade options. (Why so much for an electric chair??)
Give Necron Destroyers TWO wounds! (What? Are we made of shoe-string and bubble gum?)
Make Annihilation Barges cost 110 pts. Night Scythes 120pts., respectively. (Our symbolic peace pipe to the natives.......WITH INFLUENZA!!!)
Allow Monoliths to shake off the ordinance penalty. (Particle Whips don't shake mountains and shouldn't shake this one...)
Make Canoptek Spyders "Jump" Monsterous Creatures. (Did someone call the waaaambulance? Opps sorry can't make it to you in time, I'm running on 8 flat tires.)
Lower the cost of Tomb Stalkers/Sentinels. (.....Sorry, got nothing .)

Pariahs should be the Necron equivalent of the Culexus. If the Imperium made a weapon blanks could use, imagine what the Necrons would have made during the War in Heaven.

Rule #2 is Do Cool S*%* Even If It's Tactically Inadvisable

IMO, some of the Officio Assassinorum's gear was fashioned after Necron tech to begin with. Etherium, Phase Blade, and Neural Shredder are dead ringers.

Yeah, but Necrons are top-teir at the very least already. I don't think they need any new toys without some nerfs elsewhere.

That didn't the long, we start a wishlisting thread and already the haters show up to whine. I don't see a ton of nerfs coming o too speak, more so clarifications and balancing. I actually see a lot of units that will probably get cheaper, others that will probably see small increases, too bad the thread isn't a potential changes thread, but instead a wishlisting thread, so lets keep things on topic.

I too look forward to some rules clarifications myself. Rules for things like deathrays, royal courts, and wraiths are borderline ambiguous.
If I were to lobby for a few real changes, I believe I'd narrow my choices down to: canopteks to i4, cheaper, d/sing c'tans, and lastly an anti- psyker harbinger. I would gladly trade off increased costs to our popular vehicles and an edit to MSS.
It just feels like a monumental squander to see some cool and comely models, like C'tan Shards largely underused due to mobility and cost effective issues.

One key thing I'd love:
Destroyer weapon options.
You're saying the guys who modified themselves to have jetbike legs and gun arms can't choose tesla or particle choices? C'mon.
Even better if it comes with a return to jetbiking (Jinking Tesla Cannons anyone?) or a shooty option for their Lord so he has reason to camp back with them and hold an orb.

This or a cost decrease, everytime i try to take desstroyers i quickly realize they are 40 points of 1 wound.

If I were to entertain or indulge the idea of an anti-psyker set it would resemble something like this:
Harbinger of the Void
Void Lance: 12"; user+2; AP -; beam, *Entropic Evisceration
*Entropic Evisceration: Any psyker hit under the line of the Void Lance's beam suffers Perils of the Warp. Look Out Sir attempts need a roll of 6 to avoid being hit. The affected psyker may not use any abilities of psychic nature (includes any powers generated from psychic disciplines or special rules classified psychic.) until the end of their next turn. Furthermore, any blessing or malediction on this unit is nullified.
Void Lance: melee; user+1; AP-; Obliteration**
**Obliteration: Any psychic enemy hit by a Void Lance suffers a D strength hit. If an enemy psyker is killed by Obliteration, place a blast marker over the model. Any models under the marker suffer a hit equal to the killed psyker's psychic level+3, no saves allowed. Look Out Sir and Feel no Pain still apply. Any Harbinger of the Void and their unit is unaffected by the blast.
Cost: 25 pts
Void Cradle: During the beginning of your opponents psychic phase, the Harbinger of the Void may elect any friendly unit within 12". This unit gains +2 to Deny the Witch rolls. If any psychic power targeting this unit fails it's psychic test, they immediately suffers a perils of the warp roll for each warp charge expended.
Cost: 15 pts
Psychic Singularity: The cryptek and his unit are immune to psychic powers. In addition, any enemy psyker targeting or assaulting this unit fights at a BS, WS, and I of 1.
Cost: free

So the rumor threads were locked in the News and Rumors forum because they didn't contain any new info. This thread has nothing to do with rumors but more to do the hopes of necron players. This thread is perfect for the 40k discussion forum, case in point the thead you linked for the 40k gen. Discussion forum isn't locked at all. Rather than Necro that thread OP started a new one. So, please, if you don't anything to say about the topic don't say anything.
