Tekken 7 game director Katsuhiro Harada came across negative reactions to the new character Lucky Chloe and has taken her away.

During the 20th Tekken anniversary event, game director Katsuhiro Harada revealed the newest character for Tekken 7 named Lucky Chloe, and she met a fair amount of negativity on the video game forum NeoGAF. In response, Harada said Lucky Chloe will be exclusive to Asia and Europe.

Lucky Chloe has cat ears, paws, a matching tail, headphones, and pigtails, and is certainly outlandish. A thread on NeoGAF criticized her character design as lazy, uninspired, and compared it to cute costumes found in Japanese pop. Other threads also discussed Lucky Chloe with mixed reactions, but a Twitter user sent a link of that NeoGAF thread to Harada about "Western fans not happy with Lucky Chloe."

Harada tweeted in response, "By the way, Are you "Western" only one bulletin board? [sic] Hello small world. I'll make muscular & skinhead character for you."

A different Twitter user asked Harada to add an option to delete characters you don't want to play against in Arcade battles - specifically, Lucky Chloe. Harada told the Twitter user not to worry; Lucky Chloe will only be available in East Asia and Europe.

Recently, others have tweeted to Harada asking him not to exclude Lucky Chloe from the U.S. release of the game. Harada has clarified that he does see both positive and negative feedback to the character.

"If you need = I release. If you don't need = I don't release," Harada said.

If enough people in the Tekken community show they want Lucky Chloe in the game, it appears Harada will include her.

Listening to one websites forums is silly. Having a fit about it is even sillier. Insulting whole swaths of people based on one forums comments is just stupid. I don't really have strong feelings about the character but it seems like Harada is a text book example of how not to react to something online.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

What? Those arms are what?

As a side not, I have no found myself trying to convince this guy to make a female skinhead character, with the typical two long strand of hair, the short-sleeve polo, the two braces holding the jeans and the rangers. Maybe with a baseball bat. Would that not be awesome?

It's her coat. She has a coat with kitten hands.. I kind of think that is neat.

Yeah, the coat is pretty cool, first time I see one like this.

I guess this is a case of "This is why we can't have nice things" for our friends in the USA.

Full glove integrated in the sleeve are superweird. You cannot do much wit this kind of outfit. For instance, suppose you want to give someone the finger. Or play some Rubik's cube. How can you do it with this on? See, essential, basic stuff becomes impossible!

Totally weird and impractical.

I think the entire game is pretty stupid. Can he not release it at all for me?

No. I want my skinhead girl character. So I can plunder my opponents to death with a baseball bat, and look good doing it.

That power lies within your grasp: simply do not buy it.

So it's a catgirl.

Yeah after checking the picture out I think its a really dumb character personally, I'm all for pleasing as many people as possible, but I like fighting games to be a bit grim and gritty personally, I cant see any professional fighter trying to crack on with a pair of massive pink headphones and some cat gloves on.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

I think they meant a male skinhead. It's kind of a angry jab at the prototypical videoggame character. They think that we just want guff men in games and well it is very easy to see where they could get that idea. We could talk about that if we wanted.

My America is showing, neither of those two designs are remotely close to what comes to mind when I think of "Skinhead".

Yeah, is it not? Too bad it seems I cannot convince anyone else of it. First fighting game to propose a skinhead girl with a baseball bat as a character wins the internet!

Mr. Gruff McBuff and Lolita Catgirl would be hilarious additions to a game that has been on the decline in popularity in a niche genre anyways. It'd only be funny if they include both.

It is not your America showing. The character from Twitter has nothing to do with skinheads whatsoever. The second one… well, it is a typical skinhead girl, but the look of skinhead girl is not as famous as the look of skinhead boys, and even then, mostly the bonehead (racist) variety is famous.
But go hang out with your local skinheads (that hopefully are not bonehead ) or just go to some Oi! concert, and you will see many girls looking like this.
Since we are on the topic of skinheads, never forget that the original skinheads were not dirty bonehead, they were like this. Born of the marriage of English and Jamaican urban youth, united by music, fashion, and beating the hell out of Pakistani, but hey, nobody is perfect .

I think I'll pass on trying to hang with Skinheads on the off-chance they're not "racist boneheads" as you put it. I'd personally like to avoid any chance of being beaten within in an inch of my life, I like having all my teeth.

But it is super easy! Just look at the color of their brace and shoelace. If it is red, they are communist or possibly anarchist. If it is white, they are racist. It works all* the time! Just bring in some binocular so you can check this from afar!

*“All” meaning “most of” here. Or at least “some of”.

Actually, if you do go to a concert, it is pretty easy to check beforehand the lyrics and political orientations of the different bands that will play there. It should give a very good idea of what to expect. And bonehead are not necessarily much more numerous than anti-racist skinhead, they just get more coverage. Which sadly brings them more new members :(.

This is Tekken. It's had a clown and a dude who is a leopard or a tiger or some gak since the beginning.

This is not universally true. When I was growing up "Red Skins" were neo-Nazis.

Forgetting the best Tekken character ever, are we?

... I had forgotten the guy made of logs but, then again, this is Tekken. Weird gak is just what this fighting game throws out there on a regular basis. I mean, wasn't there a female Luchadore last time?

Anyway, the cat-girl in the OP is, IMO, not that bad when it comes to Tekken characters.

Do not forget Gon!

Certainly the smallest character of the whole Tekken rooster.

Yeah... I'm not seeing the problem here. There are Tekken characters I don't like (the Bears!), so guess what? I don't play them. I don't complain at the creator until he removes them.

Well this is stupid. More characters equals more variety. If it was offensive, sure. But this is just asking for less options. The people upset about the character should poledance with an active chainsaw.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
