Hi folks,

just received my N3 rulebook/ background combo.

To be honest I was disappointed that the Tohaa seem to be missing.
Does anybody know why?

And how to I get the rules for Tohaa under N3? Or has nothing changed for them?

cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - http://www.adpublishing.de

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

As far as I am aware the models which are included in other books (human sphere, etc) are not added to the N3 rulebook - something I was most displeased to hear!

Their rules are still maintained within the expansions.

Basically, the N3 rulebook replaces the previous core rulebook, and as such only the profiles found within.

For profiles found in other book, such as most of the sectorial profiles and Tohaa, there will come an update to the army creator as well as a PDF with the new profiles... In a while. We don't know exactly when yet.

Damn, if I would have know that before I might not have bought N3...
:(
My fault, had to inform me better next time...
But I like the new background book. The rules are anyway way over my head.

The rules aren't that bad. Ignore everything in the Advanced rules section (Hacking, Martial Arts, etc) for the time being and just play a practice game. The game is in flux right now with the version changes and the Tohaa rules may change slightly.

The main rulebook you got has the fundamental rules and is useful for many things you'll be using as Tohaa. Those rules are useful for things like Ghost: Synchronized and CombiRifles and just basic gameplay.

The main site and army builder has the troop profiles for Tohaa for 2ndEd which are compatible with 3rdEd rules. When the Tohaa 3rdEd profiles come out, they'll be released online. This is expected to happen around January.

Tohaa also have a few special equipment that you can reference in the wiki. For the time being, play without the Tohaa Triad Fireteam rules. It's just easier that way.

I felt the same after reading the N2 rules. Once you've played a few games it becomes a really fluid system and easy to play through. The flow of each order being like a mini-turn of short skill-reaction-short skill-reaction catches on pretty quickly.

N3 looks to improve on that a lot too. I haven't played a game yet, but I expect it'll clean up the little niggles here and there.

from an interveiw i watched of Carlos of corvus beli, they didnt want to make human sphere and paradisio obsolete.
plus i think throwing them all into one book would of made them a huge tome (though it would of mae the pricetag more acceptable) ultimatly the books are telling a story and in the core book tohaa have not joined the fight yet

Actually, with more rules the price would probably rise even higher...

I think this is most likely.

I don't think we are going to get a 'new' Human Sphere or Paradiso. But, I do think we will have updates to the rules that will be a free PDF download, as well as updates to the army builder.

Question is now whether CB are working on the rules for Archon Falls, or the updates for these books first.

Have they ever confirmed that they will update HS and CP physical books?

That at least could be some opportunity for a proper level of consolidation, putting both books together to reduce SKUs.

They never mentioned anything about reprinting the books. The only update that has been confirmed are the online PDFs and the official army builder program that'll give us the new profiles. We've already been given previews of the Daysu and the Makaul. That's it.
