So, I was just curious and looking for ideas as I'm kind of considering making a Crimson Fists army in the future. So I decided to come here and ask, What would YOU put in a Crimson Fists army? What units would you use or avoid? What ones would you take more or less of?

Centurions fit as they are a "new" marine item. Lots of sternguard.. some tactical and just as many scouts.. I used all mine in drop pods when I had them.

I would start with a Battle Company, but that is just the way I roll.

Cowards will be shot! Survivors will be shot again!

I’d go for a hybrid drop/gunline. Sternguard in pods, tank hunting devs in cover. Tac squad or two to bolster where needed. Probably some bolter scouts in a LSS for mobility.

But all you really need is Kantor and 15 tac marines, one with a ML. For when you need to battle for the Farm.

Nice, I see some remembers the 'ole box set. I think there was a flamer marine in there as well.

This is almost exactly what i do. 2x10 sternguard with various combis, an honor guard unit, and2 tac squads in drop pods. Then some devs and stormtalons to fill out the rest.

Is there any effective way to run sternguard without drop pods..? I keep hearing about how horrible drop pods are to assemble and would not wanna try to build one myself.. XD

Rhinos if you've got enough of them (one Rhino is easy to wreck, six Rhinos are harder). They're similarly inexpensive and make your troops somewhat faster, it's not optimal but it works.

The other idea I've been tossing around in my head is take a D99 detachment as Allies and have Airborne Assault Valkyries (half on turn one like Drop Pods) loaded with Sternguard. Expensive, but funny and less expensive than putting your Sternguard in Stormravens.
