yep m113 is perfect choice i guess for troop transport...box and cheap looking al the way...just the way the imperial army works...have you considered making one of your own from card or plastic? the shape is fairly easy and could save you big time money... i think you mostly will have more than one chimera stand in...
I have considered doing it myself, but I do not have cardboard. I can only get my paws on cereal boxes. Wait, we don't eat cereal anymore... Oh well, I do not have cardboard. I don't think it would be very expensive. I expect something between €20.00 and €30.00 for a kit. That would save me money either way, as I'll be not buying the GW chimera. Plus, I doubt I can perfectly build it either way. I've never done such a thing, so I'll wont atempt it with a vital vehicle for my army, as I will likely get around 10 of these tanks.

well, have you look at lord creed´s blog? he made a not to shabby looking chimera...i myself am secretly working on a apc myself too...^^ i think it is doable... my oldest son came home once from school and brought the next following days too always a truckload of heavy cardboard from artist sketchaperblocks... this is the foundation of my current scratchbuilts... and mind you exept for glue it´s totally free...and the card is heavy duty card at that...
Yeah, I've seen it. But my scratch build skills aren't that great as his. I Might one day try my hand at scratchbuilding an M113, but only after I built at least one M113 from the kit. I need to know the scaling. I need to know the exact size of the kitted M113, or my scratchbuilt one will be bigger or smaller then the genuine article. I hope you get what I mean.
Thinking, I came up with a potential problem. The top hull mounted multilaser. where should I put that? I was thinking like in this picture.
I could put the multilaser like that. Just like where the 50 call. machine gun is positioned. I could put the hull mounted bolter just where it's located on the chimera model, as there isn't much difference with that.
Thoughts?

I'm a big fan of accumulating images like these. The wider spectrum of images you have, the better the outcome will be.
Can't wait to see what you produce from them.

Can't agree more with you. I've found a few others on the interwebz, but these were the ones worth showing.
Oh, do you have an idea on how I can put the multilaser on? I don't want to add a turret to the tank, because that would ruin the streamlined look the tank already has. Do you think I can just put it on like the 50 Call. machine gun as in that picture of last post?

get rid of the aquilla, shave it off...then cut off the muzzle...and glue it back on turnned 180° ....if you still have accesory bitz form a SM rhino then mount it on a stormbolter lafette...this could work...

then herte is the plan:
get rid of the aquilla, shave it off...then cut off the muzzle...and glue it back on turnned 180° ....if you still have accesory bitz form a SM rhino then mount it on a stormbolter lafette...this could work...
I thought of this too, but it comes with some problems. Namely, supplies. I only have three of those multilasers. Oh, and I plan to get at least 8 of these tanks, so I'll need a lot of those guns. Ordering from a bitz site could solve my problem, but my parents won't allow me to buy things off the interwebz. Oh snap.
I could just use a modified 50Call. machine gun, but it would be very obvious and I would need to tell every oponent that those are multilasers. Oh double snap.

well then go for the scratchbuilding of the multilaser...i think someone here on the board (insaniak maybe, or hit_the_spot?) did a selfmade version...or you could make them with q-tips...after all the multilaser is a laser gatling of some sort....

Hmm, a laser gatling.
Idea! Maybe something with three rotating barrels. Ha, got a whole look in my head for the gun now, thanks Vik.

Viks solution sound the best to me scrazza, using some rods and attacth them to the turret, the mutylaser is quite distinctive , but any multybarrel gun would do the job i reckon.

I checked his blog, but there isn't a tutorial to it or something. It looks rather simple though, so I should be able to pull that off. I just need to drop by my local hardware store to get me some of those rods.
For now, I have an update for you guys.
I 'finished' the Ousian Sergeant. Well, I still have to paint the flower on his base, but due to certain circumstances I haven't come around doing that yet.
c&c welcome.

thre is an old WWII japanese tank i find more suitable... tho in fact it is german/japanese in design but relates more to the leman russ... while the m48 is more true to the scheme, he would be for my taste be only second choice... the m113 with a heavy gun doenst fit the bill in every sense...lacks certain ring ...so you might get into lots of explaining beforehand...
the chi -ha...
Hmm, it looks too boxy to me. Note that the m48 is a complete different tank then the M113, and so I won't be converting it out of an M113. I think I can easily get my hands on an M48 Kit.

I think I'll be sticking with American tanks for my Leman Russes, but thanks for the tip. So it's update time again, and This is what I have to show to you. I've gotten some more work done on my Ousians, and I made a small piece of terrain to match my Guard. I also bhought the first of my m113. It's in the basic construction phase now.
C&C welcome.

The painting process of the swamp was a messy one. I just messed around with blues and greens until I came across the desired look. I then went over it with a thin layer of Dark Green Ink (I happened to have a bottle of that, GW don't sell them anymore.) After that, a light drybrush of goblin green with a blue color and then a wash of Thrakka Green mixed with some watered down Chaos Black. Hope that helped.
