Okay so just before I head back the the hotel califorina I wanted to toss out my idea's for the army that I want to start. This ones been around for a long time in my head but I haven't said anything on it. However I've had some new thoughts related to it in my head this week and I thought that if I get it all nailed out while I'm away I might be able to actually buy and get started on it when I get home.

So enought yappering on my part. No one cares. You're all just here for the thoughts not the life stories!

So I'm not an expert so any one with more knowledge and a better fluff understanding help me out by pointing things out and letting me know how to fix.

General Notes:

Space Wolves (It is a space wolf army. I've heard alot of people saying things about the tornament lists but..)


My general feeling is runnign about the same as your typical SW fluff. except that this is a branch off chapter and althought they feel that the typical SW are related see that relation as only distant.

I'm going for a strong viking feeling from them.

The comander is a dual hammer wielding mainiac based of thor.

Instead of the fenrissian wolves their mounts are going to be elete dragon riders. (Ice dragons)

So the dragon riders are inspired from a photo at I found on the galleries that I will post tomorrow so that you can all see what I'm aiming for.

Thoran as my leader is called is a dual short hammer whilding madman. As with typical SM he's super poweful. I want to make him able to through his hammers but although theres a character that can do it I don't think I can.. (if you know otherwise pease let me know?)

So in honor of there leader many of these SW take up the use of the hammer.

can´t say that viking SW are a new thing... but i like the dual wielding thoran... sounds cool... and maybe if he uses these as throwing weapons they could be count as rocketlaunchers? i mean it is basically a missle the thrown hammer, right?

well i´ll be waiting for further fluff and pics then

Oh for sure SW are just space vikings. But I want to give them a more ... I guess a more fantasy myth like feel.

My stupid problem is that I left most of my fluff stuff on my computer at home and I'm trying to recreate it from memory.

This is tje idea that I have for the dragon wing captain.

You like? I was thinking that one like him would be the dragon wing comander and that I could do smaller dragons as the normal fernris wolf riders.

SW are a mix, Space Vikings+Werewolves. Look at their teeth, and the whole wulfen thing. Plenty of fun there.

yup... i like^^ where will you get all these needed smaller dragons from ? i think this will be a very interesting scheme for an army of SW... and they definatly need a bit of twist... the standard viking setting is a bit stale by now...yours adds the needed spice!

Not sure where I could get detailed smaller dragons.
However I'm thinking McFarlane's for the larger one.

I was thinking of doing that Blueprint Tutorial that Vik and Max had been talking about alittle earlier in the thread and I wanted to know what people would like to have covered?

What do you all think would make things easier or what have you wondered or wanted to know?

Letting me know this will allow me to come up with something rather quickly instead of just having me sit here not knowing what to say.

And for smaller dragons, try looking at plain lizards or something and either leaving them wingless (which would be cool), or making the wings yourself.could make the whole thing yourself!

Well the discussion was something like how to make blueprints for how to layout drawings and.. not really sure.

Good choice, My own Marines are Salamander based and have the name "Dragons Errant" Their Gene-curse shows when their eyes teeth change,, but more so when they grow a cranial ridge and ridged eyebrows!

The truck to me looks way to orky.. But I don't know what to do about it. I love this idea and have been toying with it for a while so I thought I would sketch it and put it up here.

i agree the truck looks too orky, and that picture of it launching and opening its wings makes me think that its like a bat-plane... now i think that to get the truck less orky, model it to be a military vehicle and not a bigrig which it apears to be
