Thanks guys. I'm really pleased with her.

She should translate as well as the rest of the digital figures I've done - she's done to the same detail level as everything else. I sculpt to make good miniatures not pretty renders which is why I don't normally show renders of my work but I really wanted to share this one early.

A assume perfectly. The Statuesque/Pulp figures are at the top of my list when it comes to paintable, crisp detail.

Definetly, she'll look great in metal. Between Andrew's 3D sculpting abilities (simple & clean lines with lots of realistic detail but not too much) and his caster's near perfect casts (often no mould lines) I don't doubt she'll be fantastic either painted up or just in straight metal.

Andrew? Is she coming with a companion? And any intention of separating paired minis into singles?

Any idea if you'll be making any new Resistance Fighters? I know I keep asking this, but I need new stand-in's for USAriadna miniatures which are kept at your scale, now Infinity has changed theirs. Also weapons without hands attached would also be great if you've got a mind for that. Otherwise I'll make do

I have a planned conversion to make some of your recon units into bikers, I just have to wait and see if it pans out. I'll post up the picture if I manage to get it working

Love your stuff mate, keep it coming!

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply.

@Greywulf: Poppington will be a single figure product. She will have a Sidekick at some point though, but both will remain single figures. There aren't any current plans to sell the 2 figure sets individually. This could cause stock issues if one figure sold better than the other, as I've found with mixed moulds in the past. Of course, it is possible to have just one part from a mould cast and the rest chucked back into the metal pot (I've sacrificed thousands of Resistance Fighter weapons to the altar of Resistance Fighter heads!) but it makes that part more expensive to produce.

@Fenriswulf: No problem about keeping on asking and I'm sorry I keep saying 'sometime'. However, at the moment I don't really have any good ideas for them. I really want to update Bella but I'm still thinking about how. I'm also slightly wary because of how my sculpting style has evolved since I did the rest of the Resistance range. I don't mean in terms of proportion or bulk as these things can easily be changed, but more how I've started simplifying forms much more. For example, if you compare the Resistance Fighter and Pulp ranges, you'll see I've reduced the folds and wrinkles in the drapery and fabric, concentrating on those areas that help convey the movement of a figure, such as the pull of a shoulder or arm. That's just the way I enjoy sculpting now and to go back and match the earlier, busier style wouldn't bring as much enjoyment.

All that said, I will definitely be expanding the broader sci-fi range in near future. These will be of a similar theme to the Resistance Fighters and the SOE Kill-Team. They'll be similar in terms of bulk and proportion. I don't think the style difference will be an issue as the hand sculpted SOE team still work nicely with the digital Resistance. It's only directly matching the existing figures in each niche range that I have concerns about.

Anyway, in other news, received a dispatch email from the casters which means a new release should be imminent. Perhaps some Heroic Scale veteran heads and .... bald heads!

First time I've seen any of your work has been today, I've been shopping around for some female minis to make up an Escher gang for Necromunda.

Spent a fair bit of cash grabbing five female Commissar miniatures from Raging Heroes - The Kurganovas and I can't recall the name of the other company but they do two Commissars as well, think it was Exclusive Miniatures?

Anyway - found your site and the wallet took another hit when I saw the lovely Commissar Venko so grabbed her and decided to grab some more gangers to join her! So pleased to say Emilia, Foxy, Bella and the two Resistance Cell miniatures will be joining the gang

Have you been tempted to make anything of a style with the old Escher minis - like a Riot Grrl/punk style?

Cheers Andrew I can appreciate where you're coming from, but I will remain a fan of your initial stylings for your Resistance miniatures. I think they'll fit in well with what I have in mind. I am hoping my test 1/35 motorcycle comes in soon so I can put it together and see how well your figures match with it. I am looking for replacements for the new Ariadna Mavericks, and their bikes are fairly large so I'll see how I do.

If you're up for expanding on your line of heads, hooded female heads with gasmasks would be rocking. Perhaps something like this, this or this?

I am starting to learn how to sculpt using Z-brush, having being inspired by yourself, but it's going to be a long way off before I can make anything nearly as good as you. Looking forward to future releases!

Andrew - just wanted to say a massive thank you, ordered on Tuesday and the minis have arrived safe and sound today. I ordered to my place of work and now I've got to sit here for around 5 hours just wanting to tear into them

Will be checking them out properly later but I'm well chuffed so far

@ Rayphoton: For Cadian, Space Marines etc you'll want the Heroic Scale Heads (hence the name ). The Resistance Fighter heads are designed specifically for my Resistance Fighter range and are much smaller, though I have seen them used nicely on Infinity figures and the like.

For examples of use of the Heroic Scale heads check out BrookM's thread here on Dakka, or Yorknecromancer's thread over on BOLS.

I hope that helps!

Well....kinda....

Brooks threads give me the look of the heroic heads..but I'm a tad curious what the models might look like with the normal size heads instead, since cadian head (gw's)are too dang big. I was hoping someone might have pics of the normal sized heads in use so I could see.

Brooks Pics though are definitely a fantastic example of the heroic scale though and hats off to someone who manages to make female IG rockin.

I'm afraid I don't have any photos to show, but I have tried a Resistance Fighter head on a Cadian plastic figure and they are too small in my opinion. Bear in mind that by putting a smaller head on a Cadian or a Space Marine you will in fact be accentuating the 'masculinity' of the figure as the shoulders will appear wider - and the shoulders are already very wide. That's why the faces on my Heroic Scale female heads are slightly wider than their GW equivalent as that visually narrows the shoulders.

That said, I am considering an intermediate size that would likely prove useful beyond chunky GW plastics.

I'll have a dig in my bits boxes tomorrow, I still have a pair of Resistance Fighters sans heads and I should still have one or two regular (non-heroic) helmeted heads lying about as well, but IIRC, I did this once before for Wyrmala I think it was, where we came to the conclusion that yeah, the non-heroic heads are extremely small on heroic scale bodies.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Well, that solves my "I can't sculpt faces but I need heroic 32mm female Chaos Marauder models" quite nicely...after I figure out sculpting long flowing hair, heh.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

Well suffice it to say that sounds awesome. and thanks for the "heads" up (see what I did there) An intermediate head sounds great. Any chance we will ever see long hair?

Also , thanks brook, I look forward to seeing those pics.. You guys(girls) are always on the ball

Gw proportions....so....wonky.....

thanks Brook. I think you guys are right. While the Stat miniatures would fit next to a gw mini...just the the head swap will pretty much be ludirous

Now...more importantly...How do the regular heads look on Victorias miniatures
