Its Actually a vostryoan sniper I want to make into a Widowmaker. The head on the Vostroyan sniper is HUGE. So I need to replace it with a smaller head. but I don't wan it to be too small.

Hmm, tricky one. I think a Heroic Scale head would work well but then you want something smaller. The Heroic Scale Heads are roughly the size of plastic cadian heads, but a bit wider to balance the shoulders. I think Pulp Scale would be a bit too small.

However, in about a month or so I'll have a four size on sale (I know, I know...) called Heroic Scale Female Heads Narrow. I think they might be what you're after.

Thanks Andrew. I can hold out for a bit to see what they look like. If you DO come across a war machine mini and want to throw up how the heads might look on one Id be super appreciative (though it would require some sawing through metal :/)

Regardless I might just buy a couple of sets for all of them...Can never have too many heads right?

Bit late on my end, but I finally got around to using one of the new upcoming Heroic Scale Heads, narrow on a model. Still WIP and well, painted by me, so not the best of previews. Plus, this will just be me gushing over a new upcoming release again, as I always do.

Model on the left features the new, narrower head, while the model on the right features one of the regular heroic beret heads that's been out for a while now. Lovely detail and a bit more of a thicker neck to it, so easier to stick onto most other ranges out there who have deeper / wider neck holes and whatnot. Just a pity I don't have more variety in models to try them on. I may still have one or two unassembled Arcadian's from Vic's range, but I'll have to dig for those. As is though, they go lovely with the plastic Scions kit, I just drilled a hole in the torso so I could plop the model plus neck in there and voila, the models look even better than before.

Some of them will most certainly find their way into my Omega Banshees though, so it won't be a complete sea of maroon berets in the force (even combined a heroic bald head with a spare bush hat ). The rest will vanish into the bits box, where a few other selections are residing until the right project comes along.

Damn, missed this, sorry BrookM. They look great and it's good to see the narrow heads also work with the Scion bodies.

For those wondering, Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW will be the fourth size of female heads available from Statuesque Miniatures.

The lower sprues are master castings of the new Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW set, shown below master castings of the existing Heroic Scale Female Heads set.

While the existing Heroic Scale range is great for converting figures that might have been designed as male, such as those wearing heavy armour or fatigues, the new Heroic Scale NARROW range is specifically designed for converting heroic scale female figures, or perhaps more slight heroic scale figures in general. But as BrookM has shown they can also work with bulkier figures too.

The new Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW size is roughly the same height of head as Heroic Scale, maybe a bit less due to altered proprotions, but narrower (...) and less deep.

You can expect comparison pictures and conversion tests later, once I have the final product; production castings are always ever-so-slightly smaller than the masters. This has been compensated for in the original prints and is why I am comparing master castings with master castings. I think they'll work great with Sisters of Silence and the more human Genestealer Neophyte Hybrids.

With the first set of Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW hopefully on sale in the next couple of weeks, here's the next batch just arrived from the printer. These will be released over the next few months. On with the print support removal!

Statuesque Asylum

Statuesque Miniatures is pleased to announce the release of a bumper batch of figures and accessories.

Five foot nothing of rowdy, Asylum Esme is another addition to the Statuesque Asylum range of pulp horror figures.

Asylum Esme is on Special Offer at £3.75, down from £4.

We also have the first releases from the new Statuesque Starport range; chunky, pulp-scale sci-fi figures with a retro twist.

Esme – Juvenile Delinquent kicks off the range. She's escaped from the big house and is set on revenge.

As a New Release Special Offer, Esme – Juvenile Delinquent is priced at £3.75, down from £4.

For a limited time only, you can get both versions of Esme in the Double Trouble Esme Special Offer for only £7, saving £1 over the regular prices.

Next up are Able Spaceman 1 and Able Spaceman 2. Two ne'er-do-wells on leave in the Starport, one is armed with a careening flamethrower, the other with nothing more than a large spanner and wilful intent.

Able Spaceman 1 and 2 are available as a New Release Special Offer for £4.25 and £4.50 respectively. For a limited time only you can get both together in the Able Spacemen Special Offer for only £8.25, saving £1 over the regular prices.

Finally, Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW is the first release from a new, narrower range of Heroic Scale heads.

Whereas the SMA301-306 Heroic Scale range is great for converting heavily armoured space knights or troopers in fatiques and body armour, the Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW set is designed specifically for converting heroic scale female figures, or more slight heroic scale figures in general.

I'll be adding more comparison photos and test conversions over the next few days, so keep an eye on the Statuesque Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as my Khorosho Productions blog.

Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW is available as a New Release Special Offer for only £4.25, saving over 10%.

These offers will run until Sunday the 19th of March, or while stocks last.

Thanks!

As mentioned before ad nauseum, I cannot recommend Andrew's range of heads enough for this sort of work. It's funny what a simple headswap can do for a mini sometimes.

I'll see about getting my Greyfax conversion presentable this weekend, which also uses one of the new narrow heads.

I felt that the regular heroic heads fit pretty well on high elf sisters of avelorn, but then they're relatively big female minis, and I'm interested to try these out too.

Nice work on the full minis too!

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Still absolutely the best female heads on the market. I'll have to hold-fire this time though as I need the bald heads too, so I'll order both together once they come out.

Also, is there any chance we might see a bald/bionic combo in the future?

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Thanks guys. Narrow bald heads should be out in the next couple of months.

I've taken some comparison photos:

Pay attention to the fine print as there are both sizes of Statuesque Heroic heads here - regular and narrow.

L-R: Statuesque Heroic Scale, Games Workshop Sternguard, Heroic Scale, GW Cadian, Heroic Scale, GW Tempestus Scion, Heroic Scale NARROW, GW Sister of Silence, Heroic Scale NARROW, Heroic Scale NARROW.

I also tried the Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW on some figures. They all work nicely in my opinion; the Neophyte looks a bit stumpy in comparison to the other two, but looks good in hand and is much shorter as well.

All the heads used here are metal production castings given a coat of primer to aid photography.

Brilliant. Looks like they were made as part of the mini.

I think I'd prefer the bald heads, but I don't know if I can sit on my hands that long!

Statuesque Miniatures is pleased to announce the release of two new sets of Statuesque female heads.

Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW 2 and Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW – Bald add to the new range of narrower Heroic Scale heads.

Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW 2 and Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW – Bald are available as New Release Special Offers for only £4.25 each, saving over 10%.

These offers will run until Sunday the 21st of May, or while stocks last.

Whereas the SMA301-306 Heroic Scale range is great for converting heavily armoured space knights or troopers in fatiques and body armour, the SMA351-355 Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW sets are designed specifically for converting heroic scale female figures, or more slight heroic scale figures in general.

Below, I've put together various test conversions using the Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW sets to see what's possible. You can see more on my personal blog HERE.

Heroic Scale Female Heads Narrow on three Games Workshop plastic figures.

Heroic Scale Female Heads Narrow on Frostgrave plastic Cultists. A hole was drilled to match the width of the necks, giving a secure join.

Heroic Scale Female Heads Narrow on Fireforge plastic Foot Sergeant. Again, a hole was drilled for the neck attachment. The existing neck 'stub' on the bodies was removed with a scalpel.

Would it be possible to see a comparison between your different 'gauges' (normal and narrow) of heroic heads on the same model?

I'll see what I can do.

In the meantime, I've tried both sizes on plastic Cadians:

The wider heads probably balance the bulky bodies a bit better, but both work I reckon. The longer necks on the Heroic Narrow help with the awkward collar on the Cadians - I drilled out a hole matching the width of the neck.

Here are both sizes next to various GW heads:

I hope that helps!

Eh, she's a tall lass anyway, then you add two inches for power armour and another eight for spike heels.
Plus she's probably thinking tall thoughts too and, as a galactic class telepath, that really means something….

Thats more problem of the space marine miniature than the Greyfax one. Besides, special characters always have some "extra-heroic scale" to them.
