Statuesque Miniatures is pleased to announce the Pre-Order of a new set of Heroic Scale conversion parts – Heroic Scale Female Heads 2.

Featuring 10 new, metal heads, Heroic Scale Female Heads 2 expands the range of Heroic-Scale heads even further, adding yet more variety to your conversions.

Heroic Scale Female Heads 2 is reduced to only £4.50 for the Pre-Order, in addition to the usual quantity discounts.

For some examples of how you can use your Heroic Scale heads, check out the Statuesque Miniatures Facebook page.

Delivery of stock to Statuesque is expected late-March/ early-April. The Pre-Order Special Offer will run until then, or while stocks last.

@Mr_Rose: Sorry for the late reply. I've not currently got any plans for more weapons options for the Resistance Fighters, but I do need to rationalise the moulds for their accessories at some point so it's possible I might be able to add something then. Lila's weapon options don't fit the standard Resistance Fighters, but a bit of conversion work might make it work.

Thanks for the update. It clarifies where I would be going with these.

You're welcome.

I've been fiddling about with heads... (please excuse the slightly glare-y phone pics)

Space Miners! I tested a couple of heads on the new GW Hybrids from Deathwatch: Overkill. The bald head is a Heroic Scale head, while the other is a Pulp Scale head. Both are production castings with a coat of primer for the photos.

Due to the high collars of the Hybrids, Heroic Scale Female Heads with hair mostly don't fit, but the bald head does look pretty bad ass. The larger Heroic head is also a closer match for the Cadian, while the smaller Pulp head matches the hybrid. GW proportions are clearly changing.

In a couple of months I'll hopefully have the bald Pulp heads on sale. They might look a bit lost on the hybrid figure but if you bulked out the cranium for a suitably alien look it could work.

Earlier in the week I also assembled some Cadian plastic using the Heroic Scale heads - a popular conversion. There's a head from each set here - Berets, Vets, Bald et al - with one of the new heads on the end.

I received a generous offer of pre-production pulp-scale bald heads from Andrew, and did a little hybrid tinkering myself.

Fits in very nicely when you add a bit of a pumpkin head, like the plastic components. Might fit just a little better if you don't place it too low between the shoulders (I might raise this one by half a mil), and if you use the armoured shoulders and gloved hands, like Andrew's example.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Oops, forgot to comment! Nice work Warren!

New Stuff! :

Statuesque Miniatures and Pulp Alley are pleased to announce the Pre-Order of a new Pulp Alley Miniatures pack – Apophis, the Shadow of Chaos!

”The personification of all evil and chaos, the shadow of the Great Serpent is already spreading around the globe. As his evil servants gather powerful and ancient artifacts, Apophis grows ever stronger. Soon, none will be able to thwart his revenge and planet Earth shall be consumed.”

Measuring 39mm tall, Apophis towers over his Pulp Alley opponents and represents the first Terror figure we have done. As a Pre-Order Special Offer, Apophis – the Shadow of Terror is priced at only £4.70, saving 10%.

With the release of a suitably scary new figure, it's the perfect time for some horror. The Pulp Alley Horror Deck introduces new and exciting effects for players wanting to add a touch of horror to their Pulp Alley scenarios. Can you survive the mind-rending madness?

The Pulp Alley Horror Deck is made up of 48 cards. Two blank Horror cards are also included for you to make your own custom cards, replace worn cards, and so on. The deck is printed on premium stock to match the high quality Fortune Decks and other printed cards.

As a Pre-Order Special Offer, the Pulp Alley Horror Deck is priced at only £8.85, saving over 10%. Please note, stock is very limited, so order now to avoid disappointment!

Also new this month is the Statuesque Asylum Adversaries set. Featuring Lillie Poots, Professor Felicity Poppington, Doctor Strukov and Sister Anaesthesia, the Statuesque Asylum Adversaries set is priced at only £13.25, saving £1.50 over buying these items separately.

I'm happy to say we now have the Pulp Alley Rulebook, Fortune Deck and Pulp Leagues book available again as a Restock Pre-Order, along with the Pulp Alley Deal for the rulebook and cards. The stock will be arriving from the US with the new Horror Deck, so will be posted on the same date.

Finally, a number of Pulp Alley card packs are now 20% off while stocks last. Stock is limited but remember: unless marked as a Pre-Order or Restock Pre-Order, Statuesque Miniatures will never take an order for an item that isn't in stock and ready to send.

Any order containing a Pre-Order item will not be posted until the 20th of May. The Pre-Order Special Offer prices also run until this date or while stocks last.

With the release of Fine and Pulp Scale Female Heads 2, I thought I'd have another play around with some Frostgrave plastic figures.

I'd already posted these Frostgrave cultist conversions on earlier in the thread, with more info about the process (LINK).

This time I decided to have a go with the Frostgrave soldiers. These are the Pulp Scale Female Heads, with heads from both sets of sprues.

There was no putty involved, just careful placement of the head, as far back as possible. You can drill out a socket for the head if that helps. It's best to attach the head first, then the arms to get the positioning right.

I think it works quite nicely. You could go further- as the bodies are plastic it would be easy to slightly narrow the shoulders. The Frostgrave cultist arms (seen on the archer) are also less bulky so might further help too. You won't get slinky-hip, wasp-waist sex bombs but you can make some cool, bad-ass female fighters.

While I was making these, I found myself endlessly repeating "You know nuthin', Jon Snow".

The Fine and Pulp Scale Female Heads 2 and Combo are still on offer at over 10% off until Sunday. Grab 'em now!

From Facebook:

These two ne'er-do-wells are the first figures completed for my new range of pulp sci-fi figures: Statuesque Starport.

This range allows me a big sandpit of sci-fi in which to play, with heroes and villains, humans and aliens, the wicked and the weird. The figures are sculpted in the chunky style of the Statuesque Asylum and Pulp Alley ranges. Despite being separated by thousands of years, I'm also planning some crossover between the Starport and Asylum settings.

Hopefully arriving early in the new year, the first release will include these Able Spacemen; one carrying a careening flamer, the other armed with nothing more than a large spanner and wilful intent.

I approve!

The scale is based on my Pulp Alley and Statuesque Asylum range, though perhaps a bit broader and a bit shorter on average. There will be a lot of variation in height and size between figures (but consistent in scale) so anything from big brutes to petite ladies. Or petite men and big ladies... The two figures shown above are 28mm and 29mm to the eyes. Overall, the scale is not dissimilar to the size of the recent GW neophyte hybrids, though I won't be going that big on feet and weapons.

A quick test with a Heroic Scale Female Head - Bionic on a new Games Workshop Sister of Silence. Not bad!

Be aware, the Statuesque Heroic Scale Heads are wider and deeper than the standard GW head but of a very similar height. Some of the hairstyles may clash with the armour collar too and you'll need a wee ball of putty to raise the neck join a bit though it will still be hidden.

You might not want to mix Statuesque and GW heads in the same unit, but they still work nicely.

The Heroic Scale Female Heads - Bionic are still on offer at 10% off until Sunday.
