Ya because we both know that 100k will set him for life living in the UK and it is so much better then having a viable business for the next x years...Even ral partha went out of business. It can and does happen but they are still around as Iron Wind metals so I am not worried about Darklands.

Im not worried, the stuff i've gone in for is due in April. If there's no sign of it by then i can still get my money back through my credit card as it will be within the 90 day chargeback window.

So even if KS wont have my back my credit card company will.

I dont think people need to worry too much though. This company are trying to prove they are trustworthy. The'yd be fools to screw people over. This is a new game they are trying to establish and its obvious a lot of work has gone into it. I dont think they are about to throw that all away.

It's not that far-fetched if you ask me. But if they screw people over now, it's really going to be game over for them.

The fact they don't allow paypal also worries me. Kickstarter doesn't offer any protection either. You don't got any safety mechanism here.

Yeah, it's true, they would have to be really stupid, 'hypothetically' of course, to try and screw people out of this money. They really do seem to have put a lot of time and love into the game and characters, so I hope that it is a legit endeavor. And for the record, I woudn't have done it if it was paypal only, they're getting the mean end of my money, my credit card company is WAY more dangerous to deal with than paypal anyday.

It would be nice to see this company get a good head start and really create a good brand for themselves. I mean, cool mini or not has made millions since they've re-branded themselves, and I think they do great stuff.

But. But. There's way to much reasonable logic in that statement! Where's the pitchfork?

@diabolicAl recent UK precedent shows you likely have no charge back protection for kickstarter projects.

You might be (unpleasantly) surprised there, because with kickstarter you're not buying a product with a set delivery date. You're sponsoring a future product which has yet to be made, and in exchange you're gifted stuff. The speculative nature of the kickstarter transaction means that delays and even complete failure to deliver are always possible, and are risks of the investing method. There are usually hefty discounts to make the risk worthwhile though.

If you want a guarantee to get your stuff, buy it from a shop when it's released. Otherwise you just need to decide if the kickstarter bargain is worth the risk.

I'm not talking about the Mierce kickstarter specifically, the above applies to all kickstarters. And going by most of the other projects so far delays are almost inevitable for a host of reasons.

Right, it's gone past £100'000, so what is the free level at £125'000 then?

Okay... the £125,000 stretch goal will be these two miniatures, for free:
Angelcynn (Northumberas): Beowa, Werbera in bear form [monstrous infantry] and Beowa, Thegn of Northumbera in human form!
Beowa is a Sell-Sword shape-shifter and will work with any kindred... for some gold ;o)
You will get BOTH forms if you have pledged for a Starter Set, but he is NOT exclusive to this Kickstarter.

Note, it's one per backer, not one per starter set.

Still, quite exciting, especially since Mierce have said that they will include extra "pledge manager" money in the total to see if we get there

With the pledge manager I hope we'll get there. I will be able to add a bit more funding in about a week, so I've got high hopes that we'll reach there.

Since you have to pay direct by credit card you should be fully protected if the project does not deliver, assuming as the consumer credit act makes CC companies jointly liable for the transaction (for transactions over £100), so it's actually a lot safer than paypal (where your only protected against not delivery for 45 days, too little for the KS to deliver anyway)

Well I used my CC to pay at Maelstrom, my CC company told me they need a written prove (mail is also good) from the seller that he agrees with the cancellation of the payment. I even send over all the emails I send to try and contact Maelstrom, that was over 10 emails in 30 days or so...So I am not going to take that risk twice. If they deliver on this kickstarter I gladly give them another chance And they are already planning a second KS campaign so no worries I guess ^^

If you have a joint contract with your card provider to the supplier of a good or service then you are covered by chargeback. When buying through an agent, in this case amazon then that chain is broken and you are no longer protected by chargeback. This has been established in the UK and was featured in the national press.

Funded £108,036 (approx $167K)

All stretch goals were reached except the free Theign & Theign in Werebear form.. 1 per backer who orders at least one starter(£125K),

but Mierce have said that any additional cash from the pledge manager WILL count towards it so we might just get there anyway.

This is planned to be up some shortly after the KS money comes through (prob 1st week in March), but it seems it won't be up for too long as they've got April delivery targets to hit

If the above stuff about KS and chargeback is true i imagine people will be paying close attention to that April delivery target. I am still optimistic of getting my goodies. I went Ysian so they are already in production.

And another 17 grand shouldn't be too hard to get with the pledge manager!

All the currently made stuff has April as a date. They'd already said multiple times they were creating a stockpile of that resin so that they can mail the currently produced stuff quite literally as soon as possible after the pledge manager.

April date stuff might arrive a little late, but I imagine they're already working at having a stockpile of stuff ready. There's going to be a really tight turnaround from pledge manager closing to the early delivery product needing to be delivered, so I'm sure some of it will likely arrive in May (eg, sent out in mid to late April, international delivery).

Like any kickstarter, delivery dates are a goal for them, but are not set in stone (KS conditions mention this I believe), and the more successful a kickstarter, the more common delays are.

I could sworn I remember one of the comments being that when a person with April stuff confirms their pledge manager thing which would be as early as March 1, they'd ship immediately. I don't foresee any of the April stuff being late.

They may well have been casting/stockpiling resin,

but this KS has obviously gone into 'hoped for but not expected' territory, so depending on what people want they may still be pushed to fulfill april orders if some options prove far more popular than others

(I'm guessing their stockpiling will have been based on their current sales pattern, but this may change with some factions getting cool (but different) new stuff)

I have no problem with my order shipping late if its means securing the good sculptors for the models I want.

The new models are all slated for July - December based on their current state (currently being sculpted to just concept art or just in someone's imagination).

I'd imagine they've been stockpiling casts of the 8 starter sets - they already said they'd be shipped in plain white boxes.

Mierce's goal is to rebuild community reputation and goodwill. I doubt they will ship late.

Wish I had had more money to dump in here. I crossed my limit even so. Kingdom Death sucked me dry but everything I'm seeing in the works there has got me excited.

I got some Mierce monstrous minis a few months and I must say, Mierce is the first company that's produced anything monstrous that I'm excited about.

Hoping we can get to the 125k for Beowa, but if not, I'm sure I can find some other figures to spend my 26pounds on.

Really excited about what I'm getting from Mierce. I wish I had more money to give for miniatures of this quality.

I'm not even vaguely worried about whether I'll receive anything - they'll arrive on time and top notch.

The real question is, can I squeeze the Werwulfas into my pledge?

At this present moment in time I'm going through my GW stuff seeing what can go on ebay to boost more funds for this and God Slayer. I'm finally coming to the conclusion that my 27 years of buying GW is coming to an end.

Between the stretch goals, the unpronounceable model names, and the general layout of the kickstarter, I found making a pledge more than a little complicated...

Has anybody gotten their email yet? I wish I knew about the whole Maelstrom/Mierce thing before I dropped 80 pounds...

Email for... the pledge manager? It'll probably be two weeks, KS usually requires a two week window for all payments to go through before a KS can do anything.

What email? To say they've funded? Yes. I got that email.

I found the layout of this kickstarter one of the easiest to follow, btw.

Quite - I thought it was all very well laid out, and MM were very responsive to questions in the comments section.
