Remy is one of the reasons I got Blood Rage, such awesome work he does. Any word of when Chronicles of Hate will come out?

RiTides I've not had much involvement for awhile now other than keeping the forum ticking over I helped Nick with the solo rules and that's the last real input any of us have had.

The Arms of Sorrow rules were written they even made it to play testing but they were just an extension of the base BfA rules that a lot of people have no time for.It was set on a ship so there were rules for hull breaches and breaking through walls the Vanguard also had formation rules that gave them bonuses (they were written by the same writing team as the 2nd printing rulebook - who later parted ways with SMV) In the end there was little point in developing them further and work stopped. A reboot was a real possibility up until a few months ago but that's off the table for now Mike hasn't said it will never come back just that he has no interest in doing it now or in the near future so maybe some day?

Once the forum closes that's me done although I'm happy to help Mike out in future if needed. I enjoy the game it probably helps that I know it inside out, errata and all so I have no issues playing it, sure it still has it's flaws and issues but I get enjoyment from it I'm happy (maybe I'm just easily pleased ) A lot of people put a lot of work into getting it to where it is now so it's a pity it ended how it has but I understand that decision. Keep in mind I know far more about what happened here than most and I enjoy reading the theories people have some are closer than they know but there's a few key bits of info missing and what I know I was told in confidence or is covered by NDA so it's not my place to discuss it. There was mistakes on all sides some avoidable some not but that's water under the bridge and I think everyone learned a lot from the process.

Remy Tremblay really deserves the credit for the sculpting on the new stuff he now works full time for SMV and Mike had him do the bulk of the SW, Blood Rage and The Others minis he also did a good few ZcBP sculpts which Guillotine games commission SMV to do (he was supposed to work on earlier Zc sculpts but didn't have the time) I'd say he's busy working on the Chronicles of Hate now. Also credit to Remy for taking it on himself to translate all of the SW rules and scenarios into French.

Once again, thanks for the extremely informative post, DaveC!

The sculpting on the recent releases is top notch, and SMV were very smart to hire Remy Tremblay! Mike's stuff is amazing too, of course, but they've really been able to output a lot with Remy, from the above list.

Don't they still at least have the master molds of the original models? Can the models not eventually be remolded in another medium?

The sculpts themselves were actually rather fine. The Strain eventually became repetitive, but that wasn't too big of a deal. Reaper Bones maybe?

Then again, with people buying the core game for $20 or so with all those models, it'd be a rather difficult sell. Reminds me of the popular Warzone sprue by Prince Albert games that sold 28mm models for around $1.50 per soldier. Those models outlived the game tremendously and were simply known for a cheap way to get okay looking stuff.

I wonder if Sedition Wars's Terrain Set will be known the same way AT-43 is known as that game with the cool crates.

Those Warzone sprues were about $.80 a soldier when my son bought them

The terrain for Sedition Wars was always hard to find. Now it's almost impossible.. in contrast, I can still find AT43 crates :/ In fact I think Chaosorc probably has the starters for stupidly cheap still.

On release, SedWars was a sub-par game with nice minis, but potentially salvagable with a streamlined, balanced 2nd edition.

The actual 2nd edition rules and cards that took extra money to fix nothing (but actually made tings more unbalanced?) - that was the real nail in the coffin.

Oh, well...

Rule changes wouldn't have changed the map tiles with only 1 point of entry an each wall leading to the very predictable choke points.

Unfortunately when they chose to use large map tiles they didnt understand/care that it limits the map variation which leads to predictable movement paths in the scenarios.

If they weren't so heavy, you'd want to bundle them in as part of a "$100 mystery box" promotion, FREE with any purchase over $200...

Yeah it's sad.. I told a few friends about a ~£15 deal for the core box and they snapped them up. They all said the same thing; Great bases and it comes with a free game.

Welp, looks like everything's truly dead now, as my link to the forum material no longer works. Such a promising-looking game to be the one that scared me away from Kickstarters on my first go! Being tricked into paying more money for a second flawed edition of the rulebook where almost nothing got changed-hooray!

I'm not even sure if I have enough material to make the game workable if I ever even got the courage to open the damn box again. It's been closed in the corner since about a month after it came, when I had hopes to re-sell it.

Anyone know if there's an Ebay market for the exclusive miniatures, like "not-Riddick"?

Unfortunately $150 is a lot for a bunch of display models, when that's all my 40k stuff has been for 20 years, lol.

SedWars was an important kickstarter lesson, being very early on in the miniatures kickstarter business and one of the first of Restic miniatures. Just bummed I had to learn it firsthand, but at least it tought me a very important lesson of restic, which is to never buy any more!

Good riddance to bad garbage.

I was OK with the game itself, got through the minis build and played a few games, feeling that the game had potential if someone would just clean it up to make it simpler and less baroque, without the complications for complication's sake. I, too, paid for the revised rulebook, and was completely infuriated that they charged money for doing basically zero work on it. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

I'm sure there's several-fold more material in the toolkit needed to make "proper" a not-Space Hulk game of some sort, adapted to a simpler, cleaner game engine. But with how shabbily the backers were treated, and for how sour the taste is, why would anyone bother?

Eh, throw them up and see if anybody bites.

I still have all of mine. I toyed with the idea of making an Eldar army out of the human models from the box set, but that may or may not ever actually happen.

No idea what to do with the Wave 2 models, as most of them are just so poor.

Having missed the kickstarter, I still want to try and track down some scenery and wave 2 figures. Game wasn't that bad when we pawned it off on our cousin, who will read/ play just about anything.

Those figures have gotten a lot of use in a lot of games as well (seeing as how we painted them pretty decently for him).

I'm still saddened by the lack of cool second box stuff that got shown off ages ago.

My hope is McVey and Guillotine team up again and take some of those created assets and put t hem to use in a fresher, shinier game that won't be tarnished by the ghost of seditious wars of the past.

Just a scenery pack. I figure I'd paint it up to go with the set we already painted.

Seems like a good pile of scifi bits, but considering how much Deadzone stuff I've got at this point...

Vokker Dragu or whatever his name was is the best wave 2 model as he is actually a good sized model, the rest are just crap, i wish i could get $2 each for them, I would probably be happy to get $1.

Actually, i might start giving them away for free when i sell other models just so i dont have to look at them ever again

Glad I bought two more promo sets after wave 2, they add so much more to the game. The market has completely dried up. They used to sell for around $15 a piece, now the only place to get a kickstarter set with promos cosistently is Noble knight, which is selling it for $250! They do pop up much cheaper on ebay from time to time. Imho they are still worth something, if folks want to sell them for a dollar I'd be happy to pay!

I wish I would have bought a resin set from the ks, I would love to have a resin Riddick.

The game was not bad (not the best, but not bad). The minis were cool, the scale issue really isn't that big of a deal for board game minis. The only issue was that we all thought the minis would be resin showcase quality for cheap, and they weren't. This didn't break the game for me.

I just wish McVey made rules for all the extra resin mercs, aliens, etc, he made and sold. I've got a slew of them laying around waiting to get used.

DaveC, do you have a copy of the AOS rules or any new unit rules to pass on to the community? If so we can keep the game alive as much as we can.

zedmeister was talking about the AoS resins there was no option in the KS or afterwards to get the KS models in resin. I was lucky to get a few of them but not all from Mikes collection mostly the females that had a suffered most from shrinkage.

The Bounty Dogs never got as far as rules AFAIK I only have rules for the Vanguard and Strain

Posting the rules is difficult they are owned or at least have rights over by 3 different parties (maybe 4) and all would have to agree. I have asked for permission to post them before but it was declined and I am still covered by my NDA so I won't be going against that.
