Don't Ripper Swarms come on 40mm bases? I wouldn't have an issue so long as the base size and general model shape and size were correct.

I would definitely have a problem with the wrong base size.

Acceptable, but looks a bit crappy IMHO.

The general idea is interesting (and a great way to use up all those spare carny heads) but I'd go for a different approach - chop the heads just below the upper jaw and add 6 tiny legs to create crab-like creatures, call them 'crab rippers' or whatever, let opponents know that they count-as normal ripper bases.

That actually sounds really cool

Wrong base size, right form factor. Stick it on a 40mm base and you should have no problems.

Yeah, use the right base size and ideally trim the neck off and give it legs of some sort, but overall it's a good plan.

Sorry about Thread Necromancy, Dakka, but I followed through on this idea with 8 (yes, you read that right) carnifex heads. I will post pictures later. Mods, If necessary, move to the P&M blogs forum. 4 are painted already (by a friend), and 4 are unpainted(will be painted by me).

You will see more in the pictures I posted, but here is how I did it.

1. I glued the head parts together.

2. I stuck them onto a base with putty (yes, they are stable)

3. Just wait till I get the pics. They are awesome!
