So if there was an end times esque event for 40k what do you think would happen, who do you think would die, who'd return and anything else that would happen to 40k during the end times.

The 2nd edition Necron lord shows up and blows up the Squats, Slann, Adeptus Arbites, Exodites, Genestealer Cults, Sensei and all 2nd Edition Imperial Guard regiments.

Except now he's the size of Godzilla.

Then the Necrons get a bunch of new models. Then the Death Guard get a bunch of new models. Then the Eldar get a book but no new models because #$%% them. Then Abaddon shows up but no one knows what happened because GW only prints 10 books and ships them to Albania.

Then GW keeps making new volumes of the Final Days till we run out of money or the stars grow cold.

empy becomes a god after fully dying, johnson, guilliman, khan, and Dorn come back, smack the shet outa the high lords of terra, reassert control, kick the crap out of everyone but chaos, who seeing the primarchs back, finally get there DP primarchs off there asses and start to actually do real stuff. Nids bumrush the galaxy and are held off by an alliance of man+eldar+tau, orks and nids get stuck in never ending war on one side of galaxy, warbosses now bigger than baneblades. Empuirium slowly gets its shet together under rule of primarchs and starts become efficient again. Vulkan returns and died several times again, khan and russ die slaying DP primarchs in the warp banishing them existence somehow. ect.ect

Abaddon gets to Terra and destroys the IoM.

Then, Ghazghkull gets to Terra and destroys Chaos.

Then Leviathan gets to Terra and destroys the Orks.

This leaves only Tyranids, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tau and Necrons in the game which makes it far more fun as the IoM cheese is destroyed!

This is the best end times I've ever heard. Great way to get rid of all the superfluous armies.

You can't spell 'slaughter' without 'laughter'.

Realistically speaking, there will be a supplement regarding the Fall of Cadia.

Cadians will then become a migratory regiment without a homeworld (Cadians were deployed all across the galaxy when the cataclysm of their planet's destruction happened, so they still live, and so the new slogan is "the planet lives on in the regiment" which only fuels their bravery and determination)

Hive Fleet Leviathan causes untold amounts of destruction across the IoM, just like Abaddon's 13th Crusade that cuts a swathe through a series of systems.

Both are converging towards the Sol System.

Meanwhile, several Primarchs return and take control of their chapters and successors and start counter-attack campaigns.

The Imperium starts to break apart as warp storms flare up and communication is infrequent or completely lost in some segmentums. We can now play human factions that arent loyal to the Emperor anymore but neither are they corrupted servants of Chaos.

Ultramar is best prepared for this since it can operate with a chain of command even without Terran authority.

The Tau Empire launches its 4th sphere of expansion and faces a whole host of new enemies.

The Eldar and Necrons both start an aggressive campaign of reclamation to gain foothold on more planets and establish ground presence. As this increases, both factions set eyes on each other, recognising the millenia old foe and putting all focus in permanently annihilating one another rather than wasting time and resources engaging other races.

Ghazhkull's Waagh grows stronger and stronger until he can challenge an entire segmentum.

Two new Chaos Gods join the pantheon, one of them Malal, the God of Hatred.

Ahriman reaches the Black Library and begins to use the Warp against the Chaos Gods themselves for destroying his Legion, funneling his hatred especially against Tzeentch.

The Eldar manage to free Isha from the cage of Nurgle and take her spirit to the Infinity circuit of one of their craftworlds instead of the warp, thus regaining one of their gods. Next they start rallying all craftworlds to give up their avatars so the shards can be fused to reincarnate Khaine. They also send prayers to Cegorach and hope Ynnead is strong enough to stir to consciousness to have some kind of pantheon going that will help them defeat the Necrons.

Err, well it means you're left with Eldar and Tau, the (currently) cheesiest armies around...

Also means you get rid of Orks, arguably the most balanced army out there, and also the most fun.

I really like these ideas. It would be interesting to see how this would be implemented.

Honestly i'd love to see a massive counterattack by abaddon and annihilate the imperial fleet

Some iconic SM chapters are wiped out something close to the heart of the fans

Some Primarch's return Azrael first. All of the chapters descended from the first legion declare their loyalty to Azreal and the first legion comes back to fighting strength. Azrael takes control of all imperial forces.

Some other primarchs return not sure which ones but hopefully they are staggered.

Ghaz initiates the mightiest WAGGHHH! the universe has seen since Ullanor

the night lords destroy Ulthwe with their prophet

Necrons start awaking and just basically kill everything, however they realise the threat of tyranids and start attacking them but killing everyone else as well

Sisters are killed to a (wo)man

eldar flee to nagaroth or whatever it's called and defend it with thier dark cousins

um cant think of much else but will expand later

New 40k would be the best as there would be no Spesss Mureeeensss to ruin the game!

Whilst Tau may be cheesy... They are balanced against most armies in 7th and I don't think that Eldar are that bad either.

To you Orks might be 'fun', but to me Tau are.

Whilst not an army... The IoM has the most potent cheese.

I like where Dark Lord Seanron is taking his end times fanfic. HOWEVER, my all time favorite would have to be Time of Ending which does a magnificent job of getting everyone to die, having the primarchs come back in a manner of speaking, and Abbadon dies to a lucky potshot from a lasgun .

Of course, there would have to be some tweaking as the Necron's fluff has drastically changed since it was written. But still, this would be my go to end times in 40k that I would like to see be done... Until, I suppose, Dark Lord Seanron finishes his fanfic. Then I'll probably end up liking his more.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Azrael isn't the Primach, he is the supreme grand master. Lion El'Johnson is. But together they could round up the rest of the fallen in time for lunch, which of course would be a nice selection of Eldar cheese.

here it wont happen, its because the 40k universe has grown into an uncotrollable monster. too many eyes watch 40k now from the lore buffs, the wargamers, and the videogames to some extent. and this is before we discuss the old guard of players that dont play anymore but still look on and watch. if they move on too new storys you will satisy no one. its like duke nukem forever no mnatter what they do it will never live up to the hype. this is both gw's fault as it is our own; they pushed us forward in inches over the years and led us on with the promise of an explosive ending but now they arent putting out, we are too blame for believing in them on delievering too much.

now nobody will be happy. theres going to be lots of rage, flipped tables, and players that will never want to look at 40k again. releasing an end to 40k of any kind would result in a mass exodus of players that far exceeds anything you may percieve to see today; armies would disappear in bad ways, or races would ally and make fluff bunnies angry, there might be big plot holes and that would turn black library fans off. and the sad fact is that this would be the relic power maul that killed their cash cow and GW might be stupid but they arent that stupid.

the reason fantasy got away with it is that fantasy is in the minority of gw's playerbase. marines alone outsell virtually the entire fantasy range entirely. in fact if they decided to end fantasy permanently and nobody would want to play anymore and they would ahrdly feel it in their quarterly results. nobody likes this fact but its the sad fact. enjoy this cycle of rehashed content and the same cycle of gaming over and over. maybe some new spins or new events fleshed out that werent necissarily covered the way they should (like for example the plains wolrd incident as a campaign, or the battles of rynn's world developed into a new starter box). and that is what will happen, if your not happy with it i recommend getting out of 40k and playing other games who might actually move forward.
