Ok. Rock, rock and rock it is!

Girrafex I'm afraid pie-bald never happened... before I knew it I'd painted them all and there was no pie-bald.

Well thanks valhalla I will cease and desist (not really!)

That's beastmen out of the way temporaraly. Back to the skeletons methinks.

Rock, Rock, Rock, Lizard, Spock!

Great looking beastman herd there, Weety. I like the variations in skin and fur tone.

Skeleton horsemen now number 4. How to decide what colour to do the dreadnought? I was talking about doing some 'dirty' extra weathered marines a while ago... probably in biege with a highlight colour.

I always thought that the sons of Dorn, either Imperial or Crimson Fists, looked really good weathered up. But I’m sure you will rock any paint scheme you put on him.

A gigantic dwarf update for you; finally after slogging it all afternoon, not a single dwarf remains to be painted.

One rank

two ranks

Three ranks of dwarves

And its a good thing they are finished too because I'm bloody bored of dwarves and have a sudden hankering to repaint my platoon of rogue trader imperial guards. They are in the stripper already and I'm tying to order some auxiliaries and support.

Fantastic work, Weety. Banner works well with the surrounding detail.

Dwarfs are sweet ! It's like the 80's again , only done really really well !!

Yeah but I'll always have pictures.

For some reason I really want to paint them in the old RT vanilla scheme - grey with yellow and blue stripes. Red is too cheerful. And they need dirt, lots of dirt, and scenic basing.

Also I broke the bank and got a couple of original sentinels for support.

To be honest, dirty grey with some contrast somewhere would look really cool.
Use the origional 90's colour scheme but with a more modern, weathered twist.

Bold and classy at the same time. I am curious to see the old Sentinels.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

No sign of them yet. But I did get a command squad! the proper one with the goggles, cavalry helmets and carapace armour:

I seem to remember that you could give two of them boltguns or other special weapon, and since they look neat shortened I decided to go for it.

That was my recollection as well, but I looked them up in the old RT compendium, and it turns out not to be the case.

An IG command section consists of a medic, sergent, orderly, and two guardment each with a lascannon.

They do look cool though.

Maybe I'm thinking second edition.

two lascannon! Blimey.

Love the dwarves Weety! The individual shields gives them the impression of a "part time" war band rather than a standing army... Lovely stuff...

Really loving the conversion work too - wish I had the vision to see the possibilities of bitz...

Hi archroy!

Well after an epic amount of scrubbing, the whole cast are assembled.

Squad one

Squad two

Psyker, medic, arbite and assassin

I'm slowly buying up models for a squad three now. Painting will follow shortly...

Nice haul.

Yeah when I think how much these are being sold for these days I'm glad I bought them years ago. Plastics would be great, more opportunity for conversions.

That is a wonderful group of minis. The assassin needs to eat more. He's just skin and bones and spandex.

He also appears to sing soprano.

Well assassins only exist for the killing. I seem to remember some fluff about them being kept in suspended animation tanks until needed. Maybe that was just the insane ones?

But this guy is obviously a ninja as he is wearing the special shoes, so he can probably do that thing were he absorbs his special parts to protect from attack... I'm sure that's a thing they do, ninjas.

I thought it was Swamis? Or Shaolin masters... That is a very old assassin mini too. Never had that one. The old commissar, the one holding up a book, have you seen that one?

Dwarves look very good.

Well...that last bit is not part of GW's fluff but I am never gonna be able to look at a Vindicare assassin the same way again.

I'm pretty sure GW ninjas could absorb anything !
On a slightly similar note , does any collectors of the old citadel samurai and ninjas have a copy of the rules produced for them that came out in a really ancient journal years ago ? I read it as a kid but can't find it anywhere.
Sorry to hijack your thread Weety !
