If we are doing a server reset, what we should do is make a server ark. Basically a large building filled with chests and materials so that we could quickly get a new base up and running.
mondo80 wrote:Hey dark did you try to make snow golems yet??
Also did anyone check out the mushroom house i built in sanc?
I didn't try to make snow Golems, I should have! I can try again tonight and record a video if you want, but I think there are already lots of Youtube videos of them...
I did check out your Mushroom house, it did amuse me :-)

Sadly I think you are too trusting. One place where all the resources are and no-one would suffer any thefts? No creepers would find their way in? You wouldn't see an Enderman running off with a chest?

Well, Notch said that he's nerfing Enderman block carrying. Not sure what that means, but the folks at the Minecraft Wiki have assumed it means no more picking up or placing blocks.
I don't know if there's an easy way of doing it, but allowing everyone a full inventory of whatever they've got might be a good way of transitioning to the new server, assuming we were to start over and not port whole sections of the world.
New Dakkatown has a distinct element of... lawlessness to it..

From the Brandywine portal head down the corridor past all the portals then take the last right at about the eyrie's portal. Once on that corridor follow it until you come to a T-section and take the left. Then continue down that path without turning off of it, eventually you'll come to stairs in the open then finally a small cobble room with the portal in it.
If you see the sign saying "to the ocean" or something like that, you're going the right way.
Just finished my reverse engineered dam again. Put up a wall of sand against a good area, dig to a good depth (15 tiles) and then contruct the spillways. mine are quite complex, and self sustaining if one breaks, it activates an insurgency measure, to airlock the water breaks. Then the generator kicks in.
took about a solid hour of work to do. The worst was designing the redstone generator, had to redo it 4 times. It also comes with lair, balcony and viewing area. Oh and self-destruct system if you know where to go. It takes 4 seperate actions to reveal the destruct button. I haven't tried it yet though. so backup time then I set it to blow.
Edit:
Saved it and blew it, works absoletely perfectly. The whole dam wall is compromised, and you don't even get one quarter heart of health off. This is on hard as well.
still, I may have to redo my bedroom door for the 8th time! silly thing won't activate.

someone's built a small "ark" on a collision course with my ship. Could they please move it?

Completely unrelated, but that video somehow got me to one of a man putting his lower lips over his nose.
Also a brilliant one about the German coast guard.

Hey Dark, the server just crashed and I lost 4 stacks of torches (or 1 stack of charcoal and half a stack of planks) and about half an inventory of dirt for my new mountain.
I also come prepared for you saying that I should've saved my inventory, only a few minutes previously, I logged off so Wolf and Anvil could sleep it into day, so it saved my inventory with it, unfortunately, I didn't anticipate the server crashing a handful of minutes before the restart, and almost the second i'd gone to store my dirt after scattering a few of the torches around (it seems to have killed the vast majority of the torches I placed too, the first few I placed are still there, but the rest are gone; I thought the environment lived through crashes?) it crashed.
EDIT: Only just realised I forgot to finish the last sentence >.<

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I repaired the damage you did, just don't ever do that again. If ya want to do something with / in my property, ask first, don't do it THEN ask...

I'm sorry... I took the sign down... Just don't kill me...
Coolyo, it's in the FAQ not to steal other people's stuff (that includes structures and buildings etc. - perhaps I should spell it out). In addition ShogunFelsi (chowderhead) told you at the time that Melissia still comes online, so you cannot claim ignorance.
However, as you've apologised and things have been repaired I will let you off with a warning. Don't do anything like that again, there are vast amounts of unclaimed space in the world, you don't need to go claiming other people's stuff.

Sometimes a crash doesn't save the last few seconds (possibly up to a minute) of world changes. This is probably where the server has crashed, but your client game hasn't noticed due to lag or similar and so continues to allow you to place blocks and use items for a short time.
Avatar, I'll replace your lost stuff next time I'm on.
Purplefood, vague "I lost stuff" comments are vague :-), PM me what you lost and when (date/time etc).
